Thank you so much! I appreciate this change - it should resolve the issue. And I think many users would benefit from that. SEO for our institutional URL is of course another task now. But it would be much easier to do. Thank you again!

It has become critical for us to publish our storymaps with a custom URL referring to our institution. In the current state, Google returns links to storymaps.arcgis.com as the first search result and doesn't show our institutional pages at all, where these stories are embedded. Basically, stories we create with Storymaps are disconnected from our institutional website - people don't see them as a part of our project, because they only see 'storymaps.arcgis.com' in google search results. An ideal solution would be to hide 'storymaps.arcgis.com' from google indexing so that only our institutional URL become visible. As far as I understand, it is simply against the model that ArcGIS has chosen and will never happen. Could the Enterprise license be a solution to at least get a custom URL to improve our institutional visibility in the Google results for the stories that we publish using Storymaps?

While offering so many other useful features, the issue with Storymaps indexing is causing continuous damage to our project's identity. So, I just keep sending this question to the void again - do you at least consider resolving this issue with search engine indexing? Will you ever respond to this request with some solutions?

Dear Owen, Thank you, it still doesn't work in private mode but works fine in other browsers. So, it was probably a cache issue. It should be fine now. Thank you for your help! Best regards, Taras

Dear Owen, Currently, we've been experiencing the very same issue with our storymaps. Please, see the links: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/a0da72e32cce4e14a39a502f9f662e65 https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/66fb8de94ee242c29ded035ce04ed3ca We are about to promote the publications, but with no maps working, we need to postpone it until the issue is solved.

Is there any way to understand if you consider developing this feature at all? Do you have it on your table?

Is there a chance to solve this issue eventually? I still keep receiving odd feedback from our readers who get ArcGIS links in google search results instead of our project page where this publication was embeded. It so confusing to search for a specific project page but receive ArcGIS links instead. I don't understand why for several years now there was no any reasonable explanation for not resolving this issue. Make an additional license fee for that, if necessary. But it just something that is crucial. As far as I can see there are many voices up for this feature across the community.

Thank you Owen for your reply! Since I've tried to embed the same Timeline link within a sidecar container, it appeared in a wider frame: Wouldn't that mean that resizing option for their CDN isn't blocked by this external service? It would be a much easier option (not so sustainable though) to use their CDN than host an entire JS code on our servers. Best regards, Taras

Hi there, I was trying to embed the external Timeline JS element I've created (link) according to the instructions I could find here. However, it is impossible to adjust the embedded element's width. There is no such option: Interestingly enough, when I try to embed the test link (https://timeline.knightlab.com/examples/user-interface/index.html) from the instructions it works fine and the width is adjustable: Would someone be able to advise what is the reason behind it and what are the possible solutions? Thank you! Taras

Hi @OwenGeo, I've recently noticed that the stories I publish appear with a horizontal scroll (as on the attached screenshot taken from this page). At the same time, the stories I publish as an embedded iframe seem to how a white frame border at the bottom of the viewport (as on the attached screenshot taken from another page). It basically appeared yesterday. Because we didn't have this issue before. As far as we were able to investigate it with colleagues, the problem is in the updates of the CSS styles of the storymap - one of the elements is larger than 100% width, which causes the abovementioned problem. On the screenshots from my previous message, we tried to spot the exact place where the issue is located. I hope this clarifies.

Hi, There were some changes in CSS made that affected the appearance of the published storymap especially when embedded as an iframe. Consequently, one of the elements that became larger than 100% affected the overall page - (data-blockid="n-ys80vM" id="n-ys80vM", see attachment 01) See the example here: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/b8945044bcac4fd895effb90b0284226 (horizontal scroll bellow). Could you please change the overflow here (see attachment 02)? That should fix the problem. We would appreciate your help as it affected most of the stories we have created. Thank you! Taras

I am using ArcGIS online. And I don't really need access to root folders or source code in this case. Ideally, that could be one of the publishing options.
