My understanding was that hosted Portal content does not have dedicated ArcSOC instances in Server. Are there exceptions to this? I'm noticing that the hosted feature layers associated with scene layers are showing as dedicated instances. When I open the layer and use it, I also notice the number of instances in use increases so they are active. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 Scene layer published to Portal as Hosted (from ArcGIS Pro, unsure of version) A hosted feature layer and hosted scene layer are created in Portal and Server Manager The scene layer is listed as Dedicated but 0 min/max instances The feature layer is listed as Dedicated with 0 min 3 max instances Is my understanding of hosted services wrong or is this something unique to scene layer publishing? EDIT: I'm also seeing dedicated instances for Hosted Feature Layers not related to Scenes. It seems these occur when the capabilities is more than just Query? But Server Manager doesn't show them as dedicated or have instances listed. Is the server/admin REST page wrong?

Thank you Chelsea! I had no idea that option was available. It reassigns a new ID so I'll have to go back and recreate the items but it will avoid the issue moving forward.

I have another use case where not being able to update the Data Source URL is causing issues. We have a Map Service (Server 10.5.1) that has 22 layers. The layers have been added to AGOL individually with their layer number URL such as /arcgisprod/rest/services/servicename/MapServer/8. If layer 7 is no longer needed in the service and we delete it and republish the service, all of the layer numbers readjust (8 becomes 7 and so on). It would be beneficial to be able to go to the settings page of the item and update the Data Source URL instead of recreating the items in AGOL and breaking all web maps, popups, labels, etc. Lesson learned is to not add layers individually by the layer number.

This would streamline our workflow considerably. Our alternatives for adding to a standalone table now is... Having an excel table in OneDrive that has to be updated, then somebody has to manually update the item in AGOL. Requires two processes. The other alternate is to have users update an excel document that updates a sql server table through SSIS. The table is published through Server as a feature service. Have users inform somebody who uses ArcGIS desktop to add a record to the table. They are not GIS users and would have no other need to use desktop software other than to add new records to a standalone table. Not cost effective. It would be considerably easier to have users insert new records in the AGOL table directly!

My end goal is to view all related attributes in a popup in ArcGIS Online. I have a polygon feature class of buildings and a table of offices. Many offices can belong to one building. For example... Building_ID Name 001 Building1 002 Building2 003 Building3 Building_ID OfficeName 001 OfficeA 001 OfficeB 002 OfficeC 002 OfficeD The popup would look like this... Building1 OfficeA OfficeB I am using ArcMap 10.7, SQL Server EGDB, standalone ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online. It seems doing a Join, I can do a one-to-many that produces duplicate features/records for each Office. Publishing a relationship class provides a link to show related records but cannot be used to list attributes in the popup. I've used Arcade before to reference other AGOL layers for popup content but am not sure the best setup to publishing the feature class and table (feature v. map service) for this to be as smooth as possible. Also, thinking ahead to creating a View in the enterprise geodatabase, seems it would create multiple features like a join. Any ideas how I can get the desired result of showing the related/joined attributes in a popup?

My goal is to have a standalone python script that executes the 'WFS to Feature Class' tool for a secured WFS. In ArcGIS Pro 2.4.2, the tool does not work until I add the WFS Server to the Server list in the Catalog (where I enter credentials to establish the connection). Once the WFS Server is added then I can run the tool and it works. How can I enter WFS Server credentials in a python script so I don't have to open ArcGIS Pro and establish the WFS Server connection before manually running the tool?

User A Role 1 Service $ We are using a Windows Domain User Store and ArcGIS Server Built-In Role Store. ArcGIS Server 10.5.1 Two Scenarios: What is stopping User A in scenario 2 assigned Role 1 to be able to see Service $ only allowing Role 1? 1) For Service $, when "Private, available only to selected users" & "Allow access to all users who are logged in" is checked, and User A is logged into the ArcGIS REST Services Directory, they have access to Service $. [To me, this confirms the user is authenticated and can access secure services] However... 2) User A is now assigned to Role 1. For Service $, when "Private, available only to selected users" & Role 1 is allowed, User A cannot access the service. Why not?

We'll be collecting polyline data in arcgis online (collector or quick capture) as we move along streets and sidewalks in the field and would like to snap it to the existing street/sidewalk polyline features so it has a clean look. The idea is to create a web map that shows where this polyline data was collected with a clean look (not varying paths based on gps accuracy/reliability) and without much manual post-collection processing. The alternate method to consider is something where the attribute of the street/sidewalk feature class is updated if data is collected near it, parallel to it, etc. (no clue how this would work). Any ideas out there? Thanks!

I have a WFS URL that I am adding as an item to ArcGIS Online. The WFS has well over 10,000 features. The default max number of features that ArcGIS Online will import is 3000 and the most I can enter is 9999. If I change the visibility range to capture less than 3000 features at a time, it is still only importing the first 3000 records in the table for the entire dataset, not the given extent. Is there a workaround to retrieve all features from a WFS? I also have a SQL Server Geodatabase instance that I could use to import this WFS to and publish through ArcGIS Server for consumption if needed. If this avoids the WFS max features obstacle.

Thanks Xander. That may be it. I could run the tool and write the value at 6pm to the original data table.

Can you explain a little more where you want to apply this Arcade expression and why? This expression is in the symbology of a point layer. The layer has a temperature field that is constantly updated, the temperature is the current temperature, there is only one record. Can you explain a little more about how and where you will store this variable and what you are thinking of doing with it later on? I need it to take a snapshot of the temperature at 6pm and keep it (presumably stored as a variable to return and indicate the symbology for 6pm). I want the color of the point to symbolize what the temperature was at 6pm.

Using Arcade, I am trying to declare a variable at 6pm every day. I want to record the temperature (from field $feature.TEMP) at 6pm each day and have that stored as a variable until the next day at 6pm. Here is what I have tried: var TimeNow = Hour(Now()) + (Minute(Now())/100) var Temp = 100 if (TimeNow == 18.00){ var Temp = $feature.TEMP; } else { var Temp = Temp; } return Temp However, using IF or WHEN only populates the temperature for that minute when the statements are true. Is there a function I could write to declare the variable at 6pm?
