I have been creating animations of 2D line features though time and when I export the animations the features in the videos will randomly flicker. I have noticed this with other feature types as well. I have tried many varieties of export formats ranging from draft files, 1920x1080 to 4k at all the fps options and I have tried all of those export options on different data and different machines with different versions of ArcGIS Pro. Every single exported file inevitably at many random points in the animation flicker. The data I have been using is stored and edited on an SDE. I have tried copying the data locally to a file geodatabase and as shape files and all the data types produce the same results. My question is: Why is this happening, is it a bug or a setting somewhere that should be disable or enabled? How can I export an animation that does not flicker without having to export as a png sequence and edit the offending individual frames? If anyone here can help me I would be extremely grateful! I have been exploring ways to present dynamic data to users in my organization. Our GIS group hosts our data on a spatial database engine and hosts some of the feature layers and datasets as feature services for web apps. I really like using the web apps with the dashboard template to display a map with graphs and data summaries from the widgets. However, my group wants to move into using the operations dashboards more—because they seem to be more customizable on the fly while being hosted through ArcGIS Online (instead of our server hosting a modified web application that has been customized though adjusting the HTML and scripting). So with that I have run into an interesting issue. In the web application—if I have a feature service in my web map I can run statistics on the feature with the Infographic widget (as long as the feature service is a single layer). I am specifically looking at getting statistics on the SHAPE.LEN field of a line feature using the number template. The Infographic widget is capable of returning a sum of this field so I can get the total length of all the features. This is great and all but: I'm forced to use Filter by extent—as the check box is checked and grayed out. So this limits the sum to the current visible extent of the map (it updates as one zooms in or out) and I would like the entire total displayed. Trying this same approach in an operations dashboard leads to an error. I bring in the same web map with the same feature service and when I try to do a sum on the SHAPE.LEN field with the 99! Indicator; there is a yellow caution triangle in the corner of the preview with a pop-up that states "Cannot Access Data". The curious things are: that if the feature service is being hosted on the ESRI server than I do not get the "Cannot Access Data" error and it very quickly returns the length sum. if I try to do a sum statistic on any other integer field in the same feature service the 99! Indicator returns the correct values. So I am stuck wondering why can the Infographic widget from the web application read/access the shape.length field and the operations dashboard cannot read/access just this one field? The whole point of trying to do this is to keep the data dynamic and "live" and to avoid having to do database triggers, field calculations and etc. If anyone here has any idea why this is happening or suggestions I would appreciate any ideas or information! Maybe I am missing something very simple here? Regards, Charles

This definitely needs to happen! I asked a similar question today with not much luck! This feature would be of great value to many of us and many more who don't know they'd use it yet!

Kory! I just stumbled across that same post a few minutes ago and was about to post it here as well! It is a shame it has not gone anywhere in the past two years! Hopefully the developers will see the value in adding such a feature sometime very soon! I appreciate the help again!

Hey Kory, I really want to avoid having to convert the labels to graphics or annotations (I created the above image in Photoshop). I think what I am wanting to do is not possible. Also the idea may seem strange to some that I would want to be able to do this with labels however, I think it is something that makes sense and should be a simple checkbox option. It is odd that the option to do this has never been developed if even for just a little more flexibility. While I do have a lot of features on the map and at times they do get cluttered (there is just no way around that) the main point of this would be to preserve the vector quality of the label with zooming and panning while not obstructing the more important features I need displayed. I have already developed complex labeling rules with VBA and SQL for displaying specific features and I have the scaling rules as well. I pretty much have everything else is exactly how I'd like to display the map. It seems like I may have to use what you suggested with the annotations. Thanks for the reply!

I have been working on creating a custom basemap and I have run into an issue which I think is peculiar. Why is there not an option (or I cannot find the option) to put labels behind feature classes? I know this may not be ascetically pleasing, but I really want this option with actual labels and not converted graphics. I would like to preserve the quality of the text vectors. This would be really useful when I have a lot of features on the map and the road labels are covering them and all I am wanting with the road names is a general sense of the location. Am I missing something and this can be done somehow or is this a really crazy pointless idea?

Greg Mattis Thanks for helping clarify that process for me! I really just started using ArcGIS Pro this past week and I am trying to learn! I had found the pop-ups documentation but, I could not get them to work. You really helped me out with the file:\\\{Field} info! It is very unfortunate that Pro forces us to open the documents in IE. I didn't notice a time lag at all when opening pdf files however, it would be great if this system worked a little more like ArcMap and open the documents in acrobat reader. Hopefully we will see this change at some point.

I've been working on a rather large project in ArcMap 10.x. This project involved creating thousands of point features that have associated files with them on a network drive. In the attribute table there is a field that has hyperlinks that will connect the user to a pdf file of the selected feature. Everything works great in ArcMap... However, my organization is starting to move to ArcPro and this particular feature of hyperlinks doesn't appear to be available. I found a discussion (Hyperlinks in ArcGIS Pro ) from 2015 that stated that this item was requested. My question is does anyone know if this feature exists yet in ArcPro or what is it's current status in development or what a possible alternative may be? Thanks for any advise! -Charles
