Hi, Can someone tell me if any work is in progress or is in the roadmap to supply MAUI component in place of Xamarin component in the near future. We have written for some years a Xamarin Forms app deployed in Android and in Windows and the natural evolution should be to convert it as soon as the MAUI platform will be released. Regards. Eric

Hi, Yes, I found a fix just by calling only one time the CreateAsync methode and keep the result object of type OfflineMapTask in cache. So each time I call the server, I reuse the same OfflineMapTask to query server if any OfflineMap is available. I got an answer of ESRI technical team that they could not reproduce the problem...but it seem that I am not alone having such a problem !! Regards.

Eric DUCOS Information System Engineer Port.

Cordialement.

Hi, I have a very simple thing to do, but I did not find any easy information to do it. I have today a Xamarin app that use RuntimeSDK .NET. In this app, I have a MapView control that I initialize with a url that points to a WebMap that I created on my ArcGIS Online portal. The url is something like: https://<myname>.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=<identifier> As far as I share to everyone the WebMap and Featured layers that are included in my WebMap, there is no problem... Now, I want to secure the access and allow only me as a user for accessing this resource. I found that I can use this piece of code to give authentication but what to give as ServiceUrl to allow the application to acces my content ? I tried many url, but none worked... var cred = await AuthenticationManager.Current.GenerateCredentialAsync(new Uri("<ServiceUrl>"), "<login>", "<password>"); AuthenticationManager.Current.AddCredential(cred); Please help !!! I am a little lost with all (too many) possibilities that are described in the help, but without really samples that correspond to my needs. Eric.

Hi, There seems to be a problem with my mail box, so the answer did not get into the thread... I republish my answer below: ------- Hi Charles, Sorry not to have given answer before… First, I think that Morten given some part of answer just because now when you create a Xamarin Project, PCL project is replaced by .NET Standard project. But I did not test if ArcGIS Runtime SDK .NET is compatible with Standard (I read a thread about that but did not verify…) If you already have a Xamarin with PCL project, you can do something like we have done to arrange the things… In your Shared project you create a Xamarin ContentView with the MapView control. In the code behind, you add an interface like this… public partial class MapPageView2 : ContentView, IMapView IMapView defines some method that you will use to initialize Map and returning some data from ESRI SDK like layers, or to react to some event like touch . In each specific projet for Android, iOS or Windows, you use DependencyService to register the class defined in the shared project like for example: DependencyService.Register<IMapView, MapPageView2>(); In he PCL project you define a new Xamarin XAml page tha will contains a ContentView control like: <ContentView x:Name="_mapContainer" Grid.Row="0"/> (here my control belongs to a grid…) And somewhere in the code behind of this page, you make the binding….I discovered that this code has to be put in different place according to the plateform… For UWP, this is in the constructo: if (Device.RuntimePlatform == Device.UWP) { var mapView = DependencyService.Get<IMapView>(DependencyFetchTarget.NewInstance); mapView.SetMap(); // This method defined in the interface and implemented in the class in the shared projet use configuration to load a WebMap in the map control _mapContainer.Content = mapView as ContentView; } For Android, the same code has to be placed in the OnAppearing… This is not really good coding, but it works…I really hope that the new Standard platform used by new Xamarin project will work without shared project for ArcGIS .NET SDK. I hope that my explanations will help you in some way. Eric.

Hi everybody, I am at the origin of this thread and see that I am not alone to request the evolution, but it seems that there is no plan to get ArcGIS component work with standard Xamarin Forms project based on PCL. But.... With some test and hours, we found an acceptable solution that permit to work with ArcGIS component in such projet. We created a standard XamarinForms PCL project and added a Shared project in which we focused all code using ArcGIS library. And we defined some Interface that permits to the PCL project to get playing with ArcGIS component. In the Shared Library we define some class that implements Interface. And we get the class in the PCL project using Dependency. For exemple, suppose you have this definition in your XAML page <ContentView x:Name="_mapContainer" Grid.Row="0"/> Then you define an interface IMapView You define a ContentView in your shared project that contains the MapView control of ArcGIS and you make the implemntation file of this view implementing the IMapView interface. Then in your PCL project, you get instance of this class by this instruction IMapView mapView = DependencyService.Get<IMapView>(DependencyFetchTarget.NewInstance); _mapContainer.Content = mapView as ContentView; This seems to work in our case. Eric.

Hi, I have a piece of code to display Name of all layers of a WebMap. I am using the AllLayers property to enumerate the layers. I am surprised to get an empty Name for the first layer in the collection that correspond to the BaseMap layer whereas the BaseMap property has the correct Name. The base map is OpenStreetMap. The problem seems not to happen with the Topographic base map. Can someone tell me if there is any reason ? Or is it a known issue ? Regards.

Hi, This part of code is what I have written based on the "Create an offline map" Guide: Map theMap = new Map(new Uri(_configService.ServerConfiguration.SigMapUrl)); OfflineMapTask task = await OfflineMapTask.CreateAsync(theMap); Envelope areaOfInterest = theMap.Item.Extent; GenerateOfflineMapParameters parameters = await task.CreateDefaultGenerateOfflineMapParametersAsync(areaOfInterest); parameters.MaxScale = 3000; OfflineMapCapabilities results1 = await task.GetOfflineMapCapabilitiesAsync(parameters); DependencyService.Get<IFileService>().CreateLocalDBFolder(App.CurrentConfigName); string pathToOutputPackage = DependencyService.Get<IFileService>().CreateLocalDBFolder(App.CurrentConfigName+"/Sig"); DependencyService.Get<IFileService>().EmptyFolder(pathToOutputPackage); GenerateOfflineMapJob job = task.GenerateOfflineMap(parameters, pathToOutputPackage); GenerateOfflineMapResult results2 = await job.GetResultAsync(); When I run this part of code, a dialog opens in middle of the process that asks to me to give login and password to get acces to tiled basemap. What sort of code should I add to avoid this dialog opening and to give these information (login and password) hard-coded in code ? And I have a second question, concerning this part of code. Downloading the tiles from the server can be a long operation. Is there some ways to have a sort of progress event to give some UI progress on interface (% of downloading for exemple) ? Regards.

Thanks, That is a way to do the things… In the meantime, while debugging my project, I found that the Map object that I had created from Url contains an Item property of type PortalItem that have the waited data (as in tour given reference example). I did not had time toi update the thread… Thanks to get read of my thread. Hi (Sorry for the initial french thread...i just translated so that more people can understand and answer to me)... I am writing an app using Xamarin ArcGIS component so that I can display a saved map stored in ArcGIS Online. This is working well... Now the next step is to prepare the things to work offline with this map. I found the tutorial that describes the step to work on... In the first steps, one step consists in defining the area of interest with the following code: Envelope areaOfInterest = GetAreaOfInterest(); GenerateOfflineMapParameters parameters =await task.CreateDefaultGenerateOfflineMapParametersAsync(areaOfInterest); As far as I am concerning, the area of interest is just the area I defined when saving the map in ArcGIS Online. The envelope can be displayed in one of the menu of ArcGIS Online. Now my question is: how I can retrieve this enveloppe using the SDK from the Map object I created from the url ? Regards. Eric.

Hi, As I am concerning, The problem I described was directly seen on a device: a smartphone LG-D855. I did not test on the Visual Studio Emulator for Android. I confirm that my project is developped using Xamarin.Forms. The version of Xamarin components is the last stable version 2.3.4.247 The Xamarin page include a control that is initialized with such meth in the constructor of the Page mapView.Map = new Map(new Uri(configService.ServerConfiguration.SigMapUrl)); The SigMapUrl variable points to a WebMap url. This WebMap contains a standard background and some ESRI Shapes In development phase, I run in DEBUG mode…I did not test using Release mode. When I upgraded the project, I had to remove the "arm64-v8a" that was working with the previous version of ArcGIS component 100.0, to get my project compiling. So the enabled architectures in my Android project are: armeabi, armeabi-v7a and x86 Android SDK Tool is at version 25.2.5 and SDK Platform Tools at version 25.0.6 I am using Visual STudio 2017 Entreprise with last update installed Hope that problem will be found….If not, it will be required to come back to previous version… Eric DUCOS De : Michael Branscomb Envoyé : samedi 1 juillet 2017 22:54 À : Eric DUCOS <Eric.DUCOS@dexip.com> Objet : Re: - Re: Problem after upgrading my Xamarin app with ArcGIS.Net 100.1 GeoNet <https://community.esri.com/?et=watches.email.thread> Re: Problem after upgrading my Xamarin app with ArcGIS.Net 100.1 reply from Michael Branscomb<https://community.esri.com/people/MBranscomb-esristaff?et=watches.email.thread> in ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .NET - View the full discussion<https://community.esri.com/message/697949-re-problem-after-upgrading-my-xamarin-app-with-arcgisnet-1001?commentID=697949&et=watches.email.thread#comment-697949>
