Hello Jill and everyone. You may be aware of the new Well Architected Framework website (https://architecture.arcgis.com). The content on the website will be expanding and the plan is to add architecture icons for use on this site somewhere around User Conference time (July). Stay tuned! Thanks.

Sure James. There is also the user.config files which are dynamically updated by the ArcGIS Pro and stored in both the local and roaming portions of the profile (examples below). I don't have insight as to exactly how each of these are used or which settings land where but I would advise to ensure these are persisting in the profile as well. Also, as these files are dynamically managed by ArcGIS Pro, its not advisable to try and manipulate these files directly. C:\Users\username>\AppData\Local\ESRI\ArcGISPro_StrongName_zvah3uykicxkwb5qgbiayac4t4a1cvw4\3.0.0.0 C:\Users\username>\AppData\Roaming\Esri\ArcGISPro_StrongName_zvah3uykicxkwb5qgbiayac4t4a1cvw4\3.0.0.0

Thanks for the information. With each release, the Pro.settingsConfig method is being expanded to include additional items, though I don't have insight into what specifically will be added next, I know more is coming. Quite a bit was added between 2.9 and 3.0. For moving and docking panes, my understanding is that is controlled by the ArcGISSettings.xml file located at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ESRI so may want to ensure that file is being updated and persisting.

The only publicly available icons I am aware of are here, but they lack the server type icons, etc.: https://community.esri.com/t5/implementing-arcgis-blog/esri-presentation-icons/ba-p/886935

John, et al, I just checked and this is still the latest public icon set. I will continue to monitor internally and if an update materializes I will certainly update this post. Thanks!

Hello. So since the Data Store is associated with ArcGIS Enterprise and not ArcGIS Server, that is probably why it is not mentioned in that ArcGIS Server specific link. Essentially, you need Enterprise because you need Portal to have a Hosting Server and the Data Store is associated to your Hosting Server. When configuring a highly available Enterprise configuration, there is a specific procedure and configuration which includes the active/passive Data Store. https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/configure-highly-available-system.htm

Hello. Several us on the Architecture & Security team have looked at this and believe this may be a mis-configuration of some sort and the recommendation is to contact Esri Technical Support for further guidance.

It may be that it was working because the RDS role had not been applied yet and once you enabled it, then the policy applied. I just configured a Windows 2019 Terminal Serer (with Citrix XenApp) and though the policy is named slightly different, it still needs to be enabled as with Windows 2016 to access the GPU, also a bare metal server in my case.

ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .NET uses DirectX to provide high-performance rendering of maps and scenes. The app built using the SDK will leverage the GPU if available and if not, will fall-back to software rendering. I worked on a project a couple years back with a custom Runtime app in a XenDesktop environment and did see performance differences when an actual GPU was available. So, it is possible to run an app without it but will likely be improved with a GPU. You may have to pilot your particular application to determine if the GPUs are required/warranted. That was actually the intent of the testing I was involved with and in the end the customer opted to deploy the GPUs as their application was very "map centric". Thanks for the feedback. There is a tool available as an add-in for Pro called PerfTools. This tool has many capabilities but with minimal time investment it can be used to pan/zoom to a set of saved bookmarks so you can get a sense of rendering performance with your data and also with varying VDI configurations. Here are some links that provide additional information. How can I use the new ArcGIS Pro PerfTools Add-in? Jon, The number of cores required is generally determined by some sort of capacity analysis based on the type of workflows you are performing. The minimum would be 2 cores and you may have to go to 4 cores if the workflows were heavier with 50 users (e.g., Insights usage). But, with 50 users performing general hosted feature service queries with a reasonable "think time" between requests (e.g., 6 seconds average), then 2 cores would likely be adequate.
