Hi Timothy, thanks for the reply. There is no Spatial Reference for the sid files. Here is a screenshot of the metadata

Hi, I am fairly new to ArcGIS Desktop and GIS, so forgive me if my explanation is not too clear. I have received a few sid files that span several years, all at the same location. I would like to georeference those files so I can add my vector information. These files are at different scales and I imported each one by going add-data->Data What would be the process or can someone point me in the direction to georeference these files. I have been looking at the documentation, but no luck so far Thanks

Hi. I have several features with labels and merged all those features into one (requirement). The labels are now gone(which makes sense), but I am wondering if there is a way to add the annotations/free form text to the merged feature in ArcGIS Pro. If not, is there a potential work around in another program to add customer labels/annotations? Thanks

Testing a few other programs, the issues appears to be AbaData. I used the website mapshaper.org and qGIS to test.

I have a question regarding merging polygon features. In Arcgis Pro, I have create a polygon that is in the shape of an thick L. I created it two different way ( and have tried several different times) 1) As a single polygon 2) As two polygons, then merged into a single polygon (Use the merge tool under edit) When I export the shp file for either of them, I use another program called AbaData to see how the polygon will appear. (In arcgis, the polygon appears as expected. In AbaData, the L shape disappears into more of a rectangle, dropped one of the points. (see the images) Is there something I am doing wrong when merging or is this maybe an issue with AbaData? I have not run into an issue with AbaData before but that could be the problem. Thoughts? Thanks

OK make sense. Would my assumption for drawing a polygon units be measured square feet or how would I tell what unit its measured in? (The shape_area field)? Thanks as always

Hi. Just a quick followup regarding the units the shape_area is recorded in. Where would I change the unit used for the measurement (I tried the project settings but had no luck Thanks again

Yeah I believe I am 95% there. I was able to create the new feature, the polygon, the export that polygon out as shp files (Right click data->export feature) It look likes the shape_area record is in square feet? (based off the default). I was hoping to have it record in hectares. I changed the default unit measurement to hectares in the options under project -> units. I also checked the layer properties but did not see anything. What would be the way to set the default units? Thanks for the awesome support by the way everyone.

If I could use the existing point geometry, that would be best. This is for ArcGIS Pro 1.1.1

Hello again with another newbie question I have the point shp file as shown in the attachment, but I need it to a polygon shp file with each polygon having the area calculated. I was thinking of drawing the polygons in another layer and exporting that layer as a shp file. Is that the proper approach to this or is there another way? If so, how can you create a new empty layer and draw the polygons on it? ( I tried add data under the map tab but I am not seeing how to create a new empty layer and drawing the polygons on it) Thanks again for the help

Hello again :0 I am trying to create a shp file with custom fields for the BC ePASS submission system. This epass system required another set of shp files called Ancillary and Other Applications (_aoa) In ArcGis Pro, it is possible to modify the shp file to added additional properties/values? The original shp files would be imported into ArcGIS Pro as it would have the area of the disposal. Thanks for the help again

Sorry about posting to the wrong place. Is there a way to move the question to the proper category? I was looking over the documentation before, but I was unable to find what I needed.
