The list of custom classes I am writing for use with the ArcGIS JS API continues to grow. Is there a good way to create documentation for both myself and my team (who use the custom classes in their apps)? I like the Esri documentation, so am interested in creating something like that.

I need to write a specific date + time, not the current date I thought it was obvious, but the valueOf() function can be used on any date! We use Oracle, and this was the solution for us. So in your example try: var attr = {
"DATE_TIME_J" : datetime.valueOf()
};

I use the .valueOf() function to pass the current date into Oracle via applyEdits() on a FeatureService: ... "DATETIME": new Date().valueOf(); ...

As far as I can tell, the problem is that calling map.SetTimeExtent(timeExtent) does not call timeSlider.SetThumbIndexes with the appropriate array position. Do you know of a workaround, short of manually calculating the appropriate TimeSlider thumb index and applying this? I've run into the same problem. Did you do the manual workaround?

If you pass in tileInfo, the WebTiledLayer will use that. Otherwise, it defaults to web mercator. Edit: You already marked this as answered, but I wanted to follow up with more info and an example showing a non-web-mercator tiled layer. Thanks for that, it's working!

After some more reading it appears esri.layers.WebTiledLayer is the way to go. Google Maps for Google Earth Enterprise follows the same URL format of http://some.domain.com/${level}/${col}/${row}/. My problem is determining the esri.layers.TileInfo parameters for it because it wasn't created in web mercator (or 'GMercatorProjector' in Google speak) but rather 'LatLngProjection'. Main question: will WebTiledLayer work on non-WebMercator services? If yes, then I have to figure out the rest of the esri.layers.TileInfo props: dpi (72) format (jpg) height (256) lods (?) origin (?) spatialReference (4326) width (256)

I work on an Intranet and we have a Google Earth globe with all of our imagery. Is there a way for me add that imagery to an ArcGIS JavaScript API web map as a layer? I'm using ArcGIS Server 10.1 and API 3.2. I have no idea about the Google Earth side of things (if that matters).

Version 3.2 of the API broke track rendering, as confirmed by Kelly Hutchins. I need track rendering, so I went back to version 3.1.

Yes it looks like we did break the track renderer at 3.2. We submitted a bug for this issue and will fix it as soon as possible. Kelly Ok, thanks for the confirmation!

It seems that the Temporal renderer with aging sample no longer renders track lines, just points. Did 3.2 break it?

Is there a way that I can programmatically create ellipse polygon geometries on the client? Can esri.toolbar.Draw (Constant: ELLIPSE) be used for this? Or should I publish a GP service that uses the 'Table to Ellipse' tool?

My experience with the TimeSlider is that as the user moves the thumb, the time extent is not changed until the user releases the mouse button (onMouseUp()?). Here is a sample. Is it possible to override this behavior so that the onTimeExtentChange event fires when the TimeSlider moves with the mouse button still pressed? For reference, the Google Earth time slider has this behavior.

Yes, you can do it. Check out the gpx template on arcgis.com for a working example. I'll check that out, thanks Derek.

In the Flex API there is a sample ('Time rendered 5K run (gpx)') that uses a FeatureCollection to populate time-aware data that is not setup with ArcGIS: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/index.html#/Time_rendered_5K_run_gpx/01nq0000002r000000/ I'm thinking about an app where the user can add .csv files with dates and have the time slider animate them. Can this be done with the JS API? I noticed that the arcgis.com map doesn't do this.
