Where do you work and what is your role?

I work for a small Municipality our side of Portland Oregon, I am the GIS tech. I mainly deal with tax lot data and city-based projects, Comp plans, utilities, roads, and parks.

What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use? (big or small - no win is out of bounds)

I would say a win is trying to get comfortable with Arc pro and setting up apps for other employees to use.

What is your expertise (GIS related or not), and how can that help the community?

I would say I'm pretty comfortable with Arc online and some of its surrounding apps.

Bonus Round! Post the coordinates to your favorite place on earth.

35.1428° N, 120.6413° W

  • Where do you work and what is your role?

I work for the City of Vallejo Water Engineering. I pretty much do all the GIS work related to water. Right now I have another GIS platform, but we are moving all of our assets into ESRI pretty soon.

  • What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use? (big or small - no win is out of bounds)

I learned how to use all my excel spreadsheets and incorporate them into GIS presentations. I know this might be ease so some of you, but to me it felt almost like magic. I was so proud of doing this.

  • What is your expertise (GIS related or not), and how can that help the community?

My expertise is anything related to mapping and design both in the field and in the office: I have a Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying and Mapping and worked in land surveying and  civil engineering (office and field) since College. Skilled with all sorts of surveying equipment and calculations for stakeouts, as-built, tentative plans, grading, improvements. Skilled with programs such as Munsys, Civil 3d, windows software.

  • My favorite place on earth is 18.431984, -65.845891

Hello my name is Paul Conners!

Where do you work and what is your role?

  • I just started my role as GIS specialist and IT assistant at the City of Guymon in the panhandle of Oklahoma.  My role is to facilitate projects and the needs of the staff with their GIS and mapping needs here in the city.  I just started on June 1st, so my projects and work here are slowly coming at me.  I am also responsible for maintaining the Water/meter readings using ArcGIS Pro.

What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use?

  • My biggest success this year was completing my degree in Geography with a minor in GIS from the University of Oklahoma.  Throughout my time at OU and in the GIS coursework we used ArcMap.  I am now transitioning into using ArcGIS Pro, so I am very excited about that.

What is your expertise (GIS related or not) and how can that help the community?

  •  I'd say my expertise lies with the use of Microsoft Office and using my problem solving skills to tackle GIS related projects.  This could be a help when needing an extra opinion on the best tool to use or the best route to navigate to fulfill the task at hand.

My favourite place on the planet is set at 36.633648, -4.487258
