There is a need to be a way to revert back to ArcMap annotation.   Sometimes you need to share data with those still on ArcMap, publish an old ArcMap, or just need to fall back because you find out Pro is just not going to work for you yet.   At the very least make Pro Annotation readable in ArcMap.

At the least I would say make it read-only in ArcMap as opposed to completely inaccessible.

I agree. There needs to be more support in the transition to Pro. Let's get a little more compatibility please.

I also agree, were having a hard time migrating to arcgis pro because of the lack of abilty to set up an annotation that arcmap can read, the solution we came up with so far is never to use annotation ever again

Sorry about raising a long-dead thread.

Did this ever get fixed? Enterprise 10.9.1 can't display Pro 3.x annotation (silly me not finding BUG-000151842 first) and our upgrade to Enterprise 11 is a ways off.

ArcGIS Desktop is in  mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application. See  Migrate from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro for more information. Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas.  We truly appreciate your contributions to continuously improving the software to help you do your work and look forward to what ideas you have for ArcGIS Pro.
