Select Widget unselect option.

If multiple things are on top of each other or you see you grabbed one to many you should be able to just unselect the one or two things rather than reselecting them or setting up filters first and then reselecting.

similar to the options in desktop identify window.

In the meantime, there is the option to use ctrl click/drag to unselect the feature in the map. Not as elegant as unselecting them in the list, I agree.
