I'm experience the same problems as many people when trying to sync my map on ArcOnline (using IOS)
"An error occurred while synchronizing edits - Unable to synchronize replica. - Importing delta data changes failed."
I realized now that my problem is because I have copy layers, however the map was used in the field and I need a way of not losing the data.
My map originally did not allow to delete features. I changed that in arcOnline but since I can't sync it won't update that on the map.
What can I do to not lose all my data collected miaogeng_zhang-esristaff ???

Hi Russell Roberts I'm still facing this issue.
I tried unsynching/resynching/remove editor tracking my layers, have no copied layers.
I downloaded the .geodatabase files from the iPad and tried to use the copy runtime to file gdb tool. This worked for some, but not all (and you'd guess, not the ones I need) of the runtimegeodatabases.
These geodatabases have attachments.
The error I get from the tool: can't copy the file
ERROR 001732: Cannot copy datas from the runtimegeodatabase
I tried shortening the path to it's simplest expression to no avail.
Any leads on how to avoid the issue with the sync in the first place?
And then, how to recover these datas?

Encryption in the .geodatabase (collector local storage DB file)!?
Trying to successfully run tool copy runtime to file gdb or export to XML + import XML into gdb on .geodatabase file, we figured the file which the tool could not open has some kind of encryption. This issue showed up opening the file with BD Browser for SQLite.
How can we open it? Where and why Collector encrypts some and others does not?
Hi, can you try copying the .geodatabase file to the local machine and then running the tool? Basically shorten the path to a local. We had this same issue and that resolved it. Not sure if its the length of the patch or if UNC paths are problematic.
Working on the same situation to recover data edited offline we are facing an error executing the suggested tool (Copy Runtime Geodatabase to File Geodatabase tool)

I've been off of Collector for a while (3D and Online has been my focus) so I don't know about what changes might have taken place but have you tried disabling and then re-enabling sync on the service? Also are you transferring the service after the replica's have been created? Do you still see the replicas on the service?
You can retrieve the runtime gdb from the device through itunes. Then you can use the runtime gdb to file geodatabase tool to get your data into a fgdb.
Yup editor tracking is allowed on your services and will online and offline.

Russell Roberts we are having a similar sync message with a map 'An error occurred while synchronizing edits. Unable to synchronize replica. Sync replica internal error - {248e40434-aa00-466a-b758-oa9e553B531a}. I am able to duplicate this error on multiple devices. We have editor tracking enabled and that works fine in all Maps that we have created with the exception of this one. I am able to duplicate the problem when I remove the map from download and re-download it. I make a change and get the same error with a different group of numbers at the end when I go to sync. One thing worth mentioning is that we published the layers and built the map in AGOL as one owner and transferred ownership to another user so they could more easily access layers that they want to download. We have encountered other errors doing this same transfer maneuver but not with syncing but when downloading the data.
I have a few questions. Can you retrieve the data off the device through iTunes if it doesn't sync as you mentioned earlier in your reply? and...
Are there any updates to the post. I assume editor tracking is now allowed. Do you know of a solution to this particular problem?

So on further testing I noticed that mixing editable and read only (Query/ Sync) feature services displays the error;
'Sync Error, an error occurred while synchronizing edits. Requested operation is not supported by this service'.
If i make them both fully editable with sync there is no error on syncing. Although the edits are being posted with the error this is still un-comforting since we don't know they are posted till we check the feature in the db.
Can anyone confirm the same behavior?

We are experiencing the same errors on the iOS 10.3 version of Collector. The syncs do post the edits however the same is error presented in Collector. What I have noticed from my testing is that when I have one fs and its editable loaded in the map the sync error does not appear. However if I have more than one fs, editable and a read only, the error appears on syncing. We are not using Android anymore so will not test that platform.
How is your map set up?

Maybe you can try to capture web traffic in iOS device using FIddler (http://blogs.esri.com/esri/supportcenter/2011/12/06/configuring-fiddler-to-capture-web-traffic-from-an-iphone-ipad-device/ ). You want to check what is POST request parameters.
We are testing offline editing with Collector using an iOS device and are receiving an error when trying to sync: 'Sync Error, an error occurred while synchronizing edits. Requested operation is not supported by this service'.
We have not had this problem when using Android devices. Is there something different between iOS and Android devices?
Is there some sort of setting on the service that needs to be altered to use with iOS?
The edits are being posted to the user version, so I'm not really sure why we're getting an error....?
We are using Collector 10.3 and ArcGIS Server 10.3
-Hopefully in the next week or two but could be sooner.
-Plug the iPad into the computer, launch iTunes, once the device syncs go to the Apps section for the synced device then scroll down on that page and you will see File Sharing with Apps and Documents section. Click on the Collector app and click on the folder and you want to pick the folder with user name and replica ID on it and click Save To. Inside that folder there is another folder with the web map ID which you will see matches the the web map ID in the URL for the map in your org. This folder contains your gdb and you can point the GP tool to this database inside the saved folder.

When I look in my iPad internal storage, I don't see a runtime database. I have this: Computer\Apple iPad\Internal Storage\DCIM\860OKMZO, which contains a png depicting the web map's bookmarks. Am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks again.
From the sounds of that issue it looks like the replica on the server was removed. If you go to the REST endpoint for that service and go to the Replicas link on the feature service check to see if any Replica IDs exist for that service. If the replica ID does not exist you can take the offline database and use the Copy Runtime Geodatabase to File Geodatabase tool in 10.3 Desktop to take they data from the device and have it in a fgdb where it can be migrated to your enterprise gdb.
Also with 10.2.7 related tables are not supported. This is coming in 10.3 which will be out very soon.
Russell, I experience this issue also. I'm using ArcGIS Server 10.3, iOS Collector v10.2.7, I have a subtype, Editor Tracking, and related tables on a feature class called "Pipes." I have no copied layers.
Everything works beautifully, until I try to sync the iPad after I have completed the disconnected work. I get the error described earlier in the thread:
An error occurred while synchronizing edits.
Unable to synchronize replica.
Replica with GUID * does not exist on the server.
What is your take on how to troubleshoot this?
Copied layers are only in the web map. Ah yes ok that might be the case.I'll have a try when I get into the office in a few hours.Is there somewhere I can find out what else is not supported in Collector offline? Also I've found out from another post that copied layers aren't supported offline. Thanks again for your help on this. I'll let you know how I get on without editor tracking. RegardsCarma Gerber
