Order of Operations for Enterprise Upgrade

Question

In upgrading our test environment from 11.5 to 12.1, I did one step out of order than what the below Enterprise Upgrade Video from 2026 Dev Summit suggests.

After doing the Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS WA for Portal, it suggests doing the Web Styles. I forgot this step and did it at the very end of my test upgrade. For my production, I will do the recommended order but everything seems fine. Would anyone see a risk in doing this step out of order?

I myself have always waited until the end of all my upgrades before cycling back to portal for web styles, living atlas content, re-sharing utility and system services from our hosting site and federated sites.  I've never had an issue.  I suppose I've always waited until the end to update the portal's 'peripherals' simply because I have so many multi-machine ArcGIS Servers, Datastores, Web Adaptors to update and I wanted to get everything up to level as soon as possible….

I have missed the web styles step before. We experienced errors in web scenes, then I realized what I forgot, and those errors went away as soon as I upgraded the web styles component. No lasting damage that I could find, other than my pride. 🙂

Thank you @RyanUthoff, I haven't noticed anything but so far it seems fine. I had them previously installed. I will just follow the order Esri suggests for my production upgrade.
