This two-day course focuses on the ArcGIS for Workflow Manager extension. Students will learn how to use and implement ArcGIS Workflow Manager. ArcGIS Workflow Manager is a scalable enterprise workfow management system that automates and simplifies many aspects of performing and managing repeatable GIS and non-GIS work within an organization. Suggested instructions for designing workflows:

  1. List tasks to be done
  2. List people/resources available
  3. Find who is responsible for each task & assign
  4. Create workflow diagram to visualize & share
    1. Update from shared feedback if necessary & reshare
  5. Create the workflow in WMX
  6. Associate with Job Type and create a job for testing
  7. Test job
    1. Update if necessary & restest
  8. Train everyone on the new Jobtype/Workflow
  9. Deploy the new workflow to Production
