Specialty Exams Transition to Associate Level
The specialty exams will be republished in 2024 to align with the Associate Level, provide a target audience role definition, and provide an enhanced score report.
Specialty level exams were originally launched in 2019 to support Esri Certified Individuals that had already passed a foundation, associate, or professional level certification exam. These specialty exam certifications were designed to be 'stacked' on top of a foundation, associate, or professional exam certification.
- To support the 'stacked' approach, an eligibility requirement was created, which stated that before registering for a specialty exam with the Pearson VUE Registration System, participants had to be currently certified at version 10.3 or higher . This requirement was removed during 2022.
- The specialty level exams had fewer questions than the foundation, associate, and professional level exams and did not provide test taker with an enhanced score report. These exams are currently being updated and republished as associate level exams in 2024 to have 4-sections, 65-questions, and an enhanced section level score report.

Specialty Exam Retirement Details
All Specialty Exams and Exam Vouchers are pending retirement and will be retired as of 30 June 2024. As a result of the Specialty Exam retirement, all Specialty Vouchers must be consumed on or before 30 June 2024.

ArcGIS Online Administration Specialty 19-001
This exam was created as a Specialty Exam and was designed for candidates who have at least one year of experience with ArcGIS Online. Specialty exams do not have a target audience role definition or provide test taker with enhanced score report.
ArcGIS Utility Network Specialty 20-001
This exam was created as a Specialty Exam and was designed for candidates who have at least one year of experience with ArcGIS Utility Network. Specialty exams do not have a target audience role definition or provide test taker with enhanced score report.
ArcGIS API for Python Specialty 20-001
This exam was created as a Specialty Exam and was designed for candidates who have at least one year of experience with ArcGIS API for Python. Specialty exams do not have a target audience role definition or provide test taker with enhanced score report.
ArcGIS API for JavaScript Specialty 19-001
This exam was created as a Specialty Exam and was designed for candidates who have at least 2 years of experience with ArcGIS API for JavaScript. Specialty exams do not have a target audience role definition or provide test taker with enhanced score report.
