Allow spaces in values recorded by Select Multiple questions

Options for Select Multiple type questions in Survey123 Connect cannot contain spaces. A question in our survey prompts the user to select one or more staff members. In the form, names appear normal (John Doe, Jane Doe). However, due to the fact that the text stored in select multiple choices cannot contain spaces, we set up the names to be recorded with an underscore instead of a space (John_Doe instead of John Doe). We would like to be able to record staff members' full names without underscores from the select multiple choice questions straight from the survey.

I could see this being a major issue if someone wanted to use the same list for select_one and select_multiple.

Agreed! I'd prefer to not see the underscores in the values recorded from the survey, especially when using the results on dashboard list.  I thought I could add a hidden question and use the calculate function to remove the '_' characters from it, but that is not supported in Web Designer.  This survey is so simple, I didn't want to use connect because it seemed like overkill. Now I have to use it just to format the response to one single question.
