Hello -

We have two federated 11.3 enterprise deployments on a Server 19 VMs. Recently, we rolled out ArcGIS Urban which necessitated the use of docker and containerization. However, our portal logs have stopped working. Has anyone found a way to get portal logs to restart?

Here are some key points in our review so far:

  1. ArcGIS Server logs are unaffected.
  2. ArcGIS Monitor isn't grabbing any logging information.
  3. The portal logs folder shows a lock file and a 0 KB log file that has no data in it with the timestamp of when the windows server started up.
  4. There is 20 GB of free space but under 20% of storage space.
  5. The portal logs are written to the local c drive.
  6. Querying the logs gets a timeout error or no data returned even though there is older log data within the logs folder.
  7. We are unable to stop Portal for ArcGIS from services.msc. Also unable to stop it from services tab in task manager.

What are we missing here?

is this a high available portal setup?

No. One is a multi-machine deployment and the other is a single machine enterprise builder.

I hadn't found this yet so thank you! According to this post, the portal logs were still being generated. Ours are not on either deployment. I will attempt the clean logs process on Monday in case this helps us.

I attempted to run the portal logs>clean operation but it did not complete. I received this error below. Thank you, Bill, for suggesting this.

Error

com.esri.arcgis.portal.admin.core.PortalException: Unable to clean all log files.

Code: 500
