Hi,

Do I need to purchase ArcSDE license separately?
I have two servers One for ArcGIS Server and another one is Database server. I already brought ArcGIS Server Standard Enterprise license. Can I install ArcSDE using this license or should i need to buy new ArcSDE license to install ArcSDE?

You cannot purchase a license for ArcSDE.  Since 9.2, the ArcSDE application server is a *part*
of the Enterprise ArcGIS license.  However, you must run ArcSDE on the same host as ArcGIS
Server.  If you want to run ArcSDE on a different host, you must purchase an ArcGIS Server
license for that host as well.  You can speak with your local Esri rep if you aren't sure what
you have or what it can do.

ArcGIS Server licensing is by the server on which it runs [except when in a VM, in which
case it's on the lesser of the CPUs on the physical host(s) or the sum of the CPUs in the
virtual host(s)].  Futher licensning questions should be directed to Customer Service or
your local marketing rep.
