Hello,

We have deployed the Lead Service Line Inventory solution. We have identified all of our unknown pipe types. We only need to sample (dig) 20%.

The crew will use the field map app to do the digging.

We are trying to find a way to add alternate dig locations into the field map to be able to select an alternate dig location in case one of the 20% locations is unable to dig. ie Ashpalt, etc.

Has anyone found a way to do this?

Thanks

Hey @JLong

When you say alternate dig locations, are you hoping to let the field map users just highlight the areas where it will happen or that it has happened? If so, you can create a point or line feature for the field map users to create and designate where and what exactly the issue and location is. Otherwise, are you hoping to have the map create the alternative features itself?

I may be misunderstanding, let me know if so!

Cody,

I have all the alternate dig locations as another feature. I was thinking the if the crew runs into a dig site from the original 20% and they can't dig it they could select from a alternate list to replace one of the original 20%

I have no way to build this into the app and have to manage the alternate list as a spreadsheet.

The way the solution is built it only allows for one layer to have all the service line data.

Hello,

I would create a customized template using ArcGIS Survey 123 for the "alternate list" publish the smart form which creates the hosted feature service in Portal or ArcGIS online, wherever is being used in this case.  Render the feature service in the Field Maps web map for the field workers to update and also in the ArcGIS Web AppBuilder used by the engineer to manage the lead service line replacement activities.
