Dear all,

The Center for Research in Water Resources (CRWR) at The University of Texas-Austin is looking to enhance hydrologic research using ArcGIS by developing maps and tools that facilitate the sharing, discovery, access and processing of hydrologic data (e.g. observational time series, gridded datasets etc.) CRWR specifically utilizes a suite of web services to efficiently deliver hydrologic data from host to user using sophisticated map applications as can be seen in the example below.

CRWR in conjunction with ESRI has created a beta map application for Texas that delivers USGS streamflow data to the user. Check it out!

A similar map application for Texas salinity data is linked below.

We would like to hear your ideas and suggestions for how to improve the conveyance of water information! How would YOU like to use ArcGIS in your research? What type of tools would make your life easier? Our work is not limited to time series data. We would also like to hear your suggestions on how to deal with large gridded datasets (e.g. climate data) from the hydrologic perspective.

Hope to hear from you soon!

CRWR
