Assign Hydro ID Crashes Arcmap

Hello

My goal: I'm attempting to create a geometric network composed of lakes, streams, and watersheds for each lake, which will then be assigned a Hydroid from the Arc Hydro toolset. I've been following this tutorial "Applying the ArcGIS Hydro Data Model, Part 2" and I'm at the step which requires me to assign the hydroid from the Arc Hydro toolbar.

The Problem: When the Assign Hydro ID opens I click on Select All, and I click on ok to assign the Hydro Ids. Following this, Arcmap simply crashes and vanishes from my screen without any error message.

Now I've tried assigning the hydro ids using the data provided in the tutorial rather than my own data, and the same error occurred.

I am using Arcmap 9.3.1 on a x86 system, arcHydro14, and Arc Hydro Data Model Template.  Both the ArcHydro14 and Arc Hydro Data Model were downloaded Today.

Any advice is appreciated.

Arc Hydro uses your temp folder to complete a lot of its calculations. It's always recommended to empty your temp folder on a regular basis. This might resolve your problem, by removing temporary files that Arc Hydro uses in which case it will force Arc Hydro to re-create them. Hope this helps.
