Any granular Miami info? Anyone working on algorithms for modeling and forecasting ?

What are good datasets to have in order perform flooding and forecasting analysis using Arc Hydro tools? Specifically, does anyone have ideas for performing these analyses for desert cities in California that may have little data available (even on a county level)?
