I have a need to upgrade a large legacy app built with the Runtime for WPF that is running on 100.6 on Windows 10 laptops. We have a short timeline for an initial release. However, we will require an ability to work with data that is in the Utility Network at the latest versions (UN v6 with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1), which is a new requirements. Also this app will be running on Windows 11 laptops My immediate term plan was to upgrade to the latest 200.x version of the API but to keep with WPF. I was wondering if there is anything I should be concerned about or aware of with this migration in advance. Would possibly going to 100.15 still support the UN and be easier? Is there any reason this does not seem like the best away to get deployed in the short term, we do have plans next year to look at a longer term objective of moving it to a MAUI to be multi-platform, but right now speed is of utmost concern Thanks in advance - Joe @MichaelBranscomb @dotMorten_esri

The problem is specifically how would one load a root cert into the Android subsystem on Windows 11. This does not seem to be a straight forward process

I am not an infrastructure guy. One client uses an F5, which I do believe is one of the top brands on the market, and not cheap. We are in process of trying to do an approach without a load balancer and to use Windows Failover clustering as a less expensive approach. This is on-going effort.

@LanceKirby2 In an HA configuration you need a single Url (DNS entry) that directs to the Web Adapters and also is used to federate. This is the Url of the load balancer. A request sent to that Url then goes to the load balancer which will send it to a running Web Adapter. In the setup you describe each Web Adapter has it's own Url. For example, WA1, WA2, WA3. If WA1 goes down, the system is still up and running but the request sent to WA1 fails, it is not redirected to WA2. That is one of the purposes of the load balancer (really the prime purpose in an ArcGIS Server deployment), to have a single DNS entry that will go to an up and running Web Adapter Hope that helps

@LanceKirby2 the thing is in that configuration you Web Adapters will all have different Urls. So if something fails it goes not go to the one still running

Seems to me that it may not be elegant, but if adding the time delay is working than it's a good solution. Although, you could try adding the WaitForPendingFinalizers call, and perhaps not need the delay. Create an extension method on Map and then you can just do in cleaner looking code from any VM public static class MapExtensions
{
public static async Task Close(this Map map)
{
map.OperationalLayers.Clear();
GC.Collect();
GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers();
await Task.Delay(1000);
}
} Then just use from your VM await map.Close();

@ParminderDhaliwal Esri has a pretty in depth sample on setting up OAuth Authentication in Mobile/AGOL located here: Access services with OAuth 2.0 This is probably the best place to start as it requires setup in AGOL in addition to the code. I do not think that you can use the methods that just take a user name and password to generate a credential from AGOL anymore (I may be incorrect, but that is my understanding). We have switched to using OAuth in all our applications

What version of ArcGIS Enterprise are you using? I think the user is how you are getting the credential, the call for the Users is fine. That is a obsolete method for getting credentials, you should really be using the OAuth pattern. Also as a general comment you are not using an async calls the way they are designed, should call await not have .Wait at the end of a call

If you follow the OAuth implementation pattern there is no need to include a token in the Url. Including this may in be the issue. When the app requests a secure service from the server AuthenticationManager will provide any required tokens.
