Gary, Which version of the Android app are you using, Classic or the Beta? Are these preplanned areas or on-demand (defined on the phone)? Currently, on demand offline areas are not supported in the Android Beta. Colin

Leif, It sounds like you may have modified the schema of the data which can indeed cause syncing problems. I am glad you were able to recover the data manually but here is a blog that may make that process easier for you if this were to happen again: How To: Access offline edits from Collector for ArcGIS directly from an Android or iOS device Colin

Leif, If you haven't already, I would suggest logging a ticket with Support to troubleshoot the issue. There are also methods to recover the data if necessary that they can provide. Please post the resolution back here if possible for others to reference. If you dont have access to Support let me know. Colin

This sounds like a bug. Can you contact Support to help triage and get something logged if reproducible?

Peter, The map isn't loading for me. Can you share the Map and Feature Layer(s) to a Group and invite the user "Collector4arcgis". I can take a look that way. Colin

Brant, These are good points and they did get me thinking of another potential alternative. Would it be beneficial to you if the owner of a Hosted Feature Layer could configure in the layer settings to allow Views to be created by others (maybe by certain users or user types they define)? I say this because i'm not confident the stance will change regarding Copy layers and offline use, regardless of if they are editable or not. The best way to get either of these ideas in front of the team would be to submit an enhancement to Support. This also helps gauge how many people it may be affecting. If you create an Idea on the the Geonet Ideas page you can also have Support link the Idea to the enhancement. Thanks, Colin

Do you have a Copy of a layer in your Web Map? This will cause the download to fail in Collector. See the following thread: UPDATE: Cannot create offline area if Webmap has a copy of a layer in new Collector for ArcGIS Otherwise I suggest logging a case with Support so we can this issue triaged more effectively. It shouldn't be the Web Map as both platforms read the map settings the same. Did you try with the Try It maps? You have to log out of your current account and click "Try It" on the home sign in screen. If you continue to have issues create a new thread and feel free to @ mention me or provide a link. You can also open a case with Support. Colin

Josh, Both platforms should return addresses. Are you using the same Web Map and Organization? I verified in the Try It maps (before signing in). Colin

Danielle, Brant, I totally understand but as a 'user' or 'viewer' type they are not supposed to be able to create content, which is what creating a hosted layer view is doing. Copying the layer is about as close to creating new content as they can get, but they still cannot save the layer and it will exist only within this map. The problem with copy layers and working offline is that when the offline database is created it sees the two layers as the same (because they have the same source) and this can lead to undesirable behavior with feature creation and display, meaning definition queries will be ignored. The fact that the download worked in Classic was coincidental. We are certainly following this issue and do plan on adding a note in the documentation to help explain this, but for now the recommendation is to utilize Hosted Feature views. Thank you for your feedback! Colin

Matt, Explorer does not require a Creator role so you wouldnt need to purchase the field apps bundle. Level 1 users are converted to a Viewer user type and this user type should be able to access Explorer just as you did before. If you are having issues with this workflow let me know if I can help further or log a case with Technical Support Colin

Hello, There have been issues noted in the past with the workflow of utilizing copied layers offline. The short answer is that this is not recommended practice for offline maps. There is certainly great use for copying a layer in other situations. The way to accomplish this same workflow successfully would be to utilize Feature Layer Views, summarized in this blog. In response to Brant, admittedly the doc page page is sometimes hard to locate as Google will favor results for Classic over the current version as its so new. This should change in the future but for now I suggest bookmarking the following link: Collector for ArcGIS Resources | Downloads, Training & Documentation Regards, Colin

Diego, The issue described here is unique to Collector for Windows when installed outside of the app store. It sounds like you are having a separate problem in iOS. Would you mind either creating a new question or logging a case with Support Services? Some things to check and note would be: Does the app load at all or is in only crashing when attempting to log in? Version of Collector (same behavior in the new version and Classic?) Organization or login specific (are you able to log in to the Try It account?) Colin

Stuart, Lets check the size of your installation to make sure it completely successfully: From the Windows start menu, select Settings > Apps & Features > find and select Collector for ArcGIS > Advanced options > check the storage size for the App. It should be about 59 MB. If you see a value that is significantly smaller, there may have been a problem with the installation. Typically this is caused by specific Windows Group Policy settings or anti virus program so it is best to work with your IT to narrow it down further. I have seen this effected by Microsoft Update Group Policy settings if that helps. Thanks!
