I'd check the windows event logs to validate what's up. My guess is some restriction on running scripts.

If it helps to support an upgrade case, ArcGIS 10.3.1 will be in mature support in December of this year, meaning no new patches or service packs will be released for this version. https://support.esri.com/en/Products/Desktop/arcgis-desktop/arcmap/10-3-1#product-support

I don't know of one to replace the home page, but Esri has chef scripts to handle most other tasks: arcgis-cookbook/cookbooks/arcgis-enterprise at master · Esri/arcgis-cookbook · GitHub

Good job - it's very important for ALL users of ArcGIS Enterprise software versions 10.3.x and below to be considering an upgrade strategy, as ArcGIS 10.2.x is already in mature support, and 10.3.x will be going into mature support in December 2018. When a product reaches mature support, patches and service packs are no longer built for that version. See: https://support.esri.com/en/Products/Enterprise/arcgis-server/ArcGIS-Server/10-2-2#product-support http://downloads2.esri.com/support/TechArticles/Product-Life-Cycle.pdf 10.6.1 is an excellent choice for your upgrade path, and I wholeheartedly endorse this move.

HTTPS is enabled at the web tier, but it's not enabled at the GIS tier (at least when I checked just now). Because of this, when the web adaptor attempts to proxy the HTTPS request to the GIS Server, the TLS chain is invalidated. Attempts to get a token should *ALWAYS* be sent using HTTPS. Without additional context I'm unsure I can speak to why sometimes printing works and sometimes not - I'd have to see the app in action. Regardless, if you enable HTTPS, on your GIS Server, this issue will likely go away.

No. The user you log into the portal as is irrelevant. The account that matters is the 'ArcGIS Account', aka the runas account that is used to start the portal service. If you were to log into this machine as the runas account, can you write to this share?

There isn't a 10.3.2 - there's a 10.3.1 and 10.4/10.4.1 (up to 10.6.1 at this point) I'd suggest going to 10.4.1 minimally. ArcGIS 10.4.x for Desktop system requirements—System Requirements | ArcGIS Desktop

This is in some way related to your legend - I'm thinking it's dynamically generated maybe? If I choose the 'map only' template, it works. Seems potentially related to BUG-000099816: When printing a map using the Print widget in Web Ap.. . I'd follow up with Support Services to be sure.

You will need an updated license file for 10.6. Do all of your sites have external access? If so, to centralize your operations, ease administration, and potentially lower cost, I'd consider deploying in either the Amazon or Azure cloud.

To start, when you click on ArcGIS Enterprise, you should look for the ArcGIS Enterprise Builder product. It's ideal for testing on a single machine environment. The ArcGIS Enterprise Builder setup program is designed to install and configure a complete set of software components for an ArcGIS Enterprise base deployment on single machine. This setup program will install ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Data Store, and two ArcGIS Web Adaptors (IIS). Unless you intend to provide named user licenses for ArcGIS PRO via your ArcGIS Enterprise instance, you don't need the ArcGIS License Manager.

Yes - Ideally, you'd have a script that can loop through a directory of map documents and update the workspace paths. Here's an example: developer-support/python/arcpy-python/find-and-replace-data-sources-in-mxd at master · Esri/developer-support · GitHub

Depending on the version you're working with, the tool you're looking for is 'Externalize Connection Strings'. If you want the ability to update passwords in registered and managed database connections used by existing services, run the ExternalizeConnectionStrings.bat command utility to update existing service connections.
