Is there a command to add all? I have seen script base custom installs, that might be what you mean by ad hoc. I was just thinking they could make it a little easier. 😃

Hey Shaun, That is still really awesome that we can just use the conda install functionality really easily. That said it would be nice if you included all the panda dependencies/interop packages (which I think xlsxwriter falls into). Are there any plans to create an install list or script that would allow someone to match the anaconda distribution if they wanted to? Just to make it a little easier to incorporate. David

Hey Dan, Yes, but xlsxwriter is one that comes with Anaconda and integrates directly with pandas. My first encounter was when one of panda's projects just started shooting off pains from a lack of dependencies. Thanks for the follow up post. David

Do we have any information on the libraries it comes with by default? Is it what is shown here? What is conda?—ArcPy Get Started | ArcGIS for Desktop From the look of it we can get Anaconda libraries such as XlsxWriter, if we use the conda procedures. Is this correct?

I made a joke about CityEngine in a similar vein at the UC. "I don't know people talk about cell phone positioning accuracy and precision, I call any day I get a model in CityEngine within 10 +-50 meters of where I want it to be a good day. "

To add on to this, you can also change rules assigned to a shape in python. It might be simpler to do this than dynamically change the rule, but each has their application. Keep in mind, this is Jython, and CE libraries have NO relation to arcpy. You cannot run python outside of CE, you cannot work with it in an IDE directly, you cannot import arcpy, and there are limited default libraries (no numpy, no pandas, no great data manipulation libraries). So far I have found most python default libraries are included, including CSV, but past that it is fairly limited.

I think you want to click the button below. This removes the segments from view. You can alter the number of nodes via two methods: 1. Edit the date further in ArcGIS to reduce vertice count. 2. Use Simplify or Clean Up graph in CE.

Hi all, Does anyone have any thoughts on what would be required to make a version of the Edit Widget that essentially has an up and a down vote buttons on existing comments? Something that happens a lot is people put overlapping comments but also they usually can't express disagreement as well with comments that might exist. I was curious if it is possible to essentially make a "Spatial Reddit"? The widget would essentially do the following: 1. Allow voting that changes an attribute in the database based on votes. 2. Buttons would be in place that allow you to click on existing comments and upvote them or down vote them based their existing location. 3. The option exists to based the symbology based on this changing attribute. 4. Has some of the key features of the edit widget. 5. Ideally allows one vote per user (IP Address), at minimum one vote per map instance. Robert Scheitlin, GISP, your thoughts would be great, especially regarding level of effort or if something already exists. David

Got it. Then it might just be a limitation of Pro then. PS: That Triangle Video is sick.

Are you using another image layer in Pro to sample from, or are you trying to use the pro base maps? I don't think you can sample base maps, but also I am still unclear if the feature for sampling for texturing exists in CGA for Pro yet. CGA in ArcGIS Pro This might be helpful, we might want to revisit this thread to see if Chris Wilkins can clarify sampling capabilities/what needs to be done use them if they can be.

Interesting. I have not tried this before, but it might be that the global coordinate system in CE is defined differently than it is in pro...which would make some sense. Are you using a similar coordinate system between the two? Is the CityEngine aerial imagery you are using georeferenced in a similar coordinate system? (That may not even fix the problem because CityEngine does not really have conventional spatial references).
