Interesting. Are you able to hook up your phone to a proxy and see the requests that are being sent?

The Esri World Geocoder being the top locator is my assumption as well based on what you described. Can you try entering 380 New York Street into the search bar and seeing if anything is returned? This might help narrow down if this is using the World Locator or if there is a greater problem at hand here.

ragtveit, What is the top locator listed in your ArcGIS Online organization settings? (That is the one we use in app) Is this a valid address for that locator? Is the locator accessible off network? I look forward to your response!

Sounds like you have two questions here: 1) The supported raster formats for ArcGIS Android can be found on this page along with a guide on how to add raster data: https://devtopia.esri.com/runtime/java-android-api/issues/2595#issuecomment-901195 2) Vector data that is supported at this time come from a geodatabase file. There is not direct support for shapefiles or svgs on the android platform. If you are developing a desktop application on Windows or Linux, you can use local server to add shapefiles to the runtime application. I hope this helps!

Ahh.. Yes. There is quite a bit that goes into showing popups in a android application. It might be best to stick with this sample for the time being. I did work on this sample which shows popups in a webmap but it again, takes a lot of work on the implementers part to get it working correctly: GitHub - nohe427/KtPopup: Kotlin Popups Recently, the SDK documentation team has asked for feedback regarding the SDK documentation. Would you be interested in emailing me some feedback about the Android SDK documentation and using it to accomplish your goals? (include level of development experience, how easy or difficult was it to find what you were looking for, etc...) anohe@esri.com

Hi coracoleman14, What sample are you using? Maybe we can work on modifying it to work with webmaps rather than making you change your data to work with it? Thanks, Alexander

Hey Cora Coleman, I believe that when you use the ServiceFeatureTable class, you want to only reference one of the sublayers whereas if you used the root service, it wouldn't know which to turn into a feature table. Here is the code that I used: mMapView = (MapView) findViewById(R.id.mapView);
mMapView.setMap(new ArcGISMap(Basemap.Type.DARK_GRAY_CANVAS_VECTOR, 48.7596, -113.7870, 4));
ServiceFeatureTable serviceFeatureTable = new ServiceFeatureTable("https://services8.arcgis.com/UT5WPtsyyxzDrV2P/ArcGIS/rest/services/GNP_gdb/FeatureServer/1");
FeatureLayer featureLayer = new FeatureLayer(serviceFeatureTable);
mMapView.getMap().getOperationalLayers().add(featureLayer);
serviceFeatureTable = new ServiceFeatureTable("https://services8.arcgis.com/UT5WPtsyyxzDrV2P/ArcGIS/rest/services/GNP_gdb/FeatureServer/0");
featureLayer = new FeatureLayer(serviceFeatureTable);
mMapView.getMap().getOperationalLayers().add(featureLayer); Additionally, since you it looks like you are storing this data on ArcGIS Online, it might be easier to create a webmap that stores this service within it and then load that webmap into the MapView rather than load the individual layers into the MapView itself.

Has anyone found some useful extension functions in Kotlin that help improve your experience with using the Android SDK? Support is working on creating a collection of these extension functions for use by our developer community. We are hoping that those developers that have created some helpful extension functions will contribute to our files located here: developer-support/runtime-android/kotlin-extensions at master · Esri/developer-support · GitHub For more information about extension functions, you can visit this documentation from JetBrains on the subject: Extensions - Kotlin Programming Language Alternatively, if you do not wish to contribute directly to the extension functions we are collecting, feel free to post some of them below.

There is a toJson() and fromJson() method so you can construct it from a Parcelable or even put it into the Intent extras.

I imagine using the sample server might be part of the problem. I do not think this is equipped to handle that type of call as it would need an export tiles call on the service. I know this service is equipped to handle the request: https://tiledbasemaps.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer/ I hope this helps!

Hi Cora Coleman, Context in this sense refers to your application context. Do you have a link to the service so I can test on my end? Thanks, Alexander

On your ExportTileCacheTask, did you call loadAsync prior to calling get()? I would also place the get in the DoneLoadingListener section as well.

Are you using <localhost> in your url to the service? i.e., localhost/portal/sharing or are you merely obfuscating a link inside your internal network i.e., your link actually looks like: mymachine.example.com/portal/sharing ? Are you able to connect to the service in an incognito tab (using the same link you place in a webmap)? I believe you should use the outward facing service if you want to view it while not on a VPN and as long as the service is not localhost. Localhost would essentially resolve to the machine that you are using. If you were on an iPhone, localhost would be the iPhone, not the webserver on your internal network. If you use the "Add Item" menu from inside the "My Content" section of ArcGIS Online or Portal, it should prompt you for credentials once you save the item and then when you enter the credentials and add the layer to a webmap, you should not be prompted again. I hope this helps!

Cora Coleman, Is the feature service not displaying at all? Is it a secured service? Are you providing authentication to that service? What happens if you do something like this before you call any other ArcGIS Runtime code in your app: new AuthenticationManager.setAuthenticationChallengeHandler(new DefaultAuthenticationChallengeHandler(context)); Do you have the internet permission enabled in your Manifest file? Do you see any prompts to log in? Thanks, Alexander
