Robert, No, the Drop Down never goes beyond the bottom of the screen. Everything tested out ok on the iPhone 6 and iPad Air2 both in portrait and landscape mode. What happens is that the drop down always extends to the bottom edge of the screen filling up the vertical available space. It never overflows. However, if there are more layers than what could be fitted into this vertical space, you just get a scroll bar. The user can scroll to get to the bottom of the list. This is actually an elegant solution. The scroll bars appear only when necessary. On a large monitor, if you shrink down the size of the window, and launch the app, the drop down stops at the bottom edge of the screen, never spilling beyond the bottom border. Now, if it did spill beyond the bottom edge we would have had an issue. So far, it works just fine and self configures gracefully on smart phones, tablets, and larger screens, presenting a scroll bar only when necessary. Tapas

Robert, I actually like it the way you have it implemented. The drop down list always fills up the available vertical space on the window. This means when I am working on a Dell 3007 UltraSharp 30 inch 2560 x 1600 monitor, I get to view the complete list of 49 search layers within the drop down without having to scroll. On the other hand when I am working on a Dell U2412M UltraSharp 24 inch 1920 x 1200 monitor, I get the drop down list which still fills up the whole vertical space, but I have to use the scroll bar to get the bottom 10 layers. The example screenshot above is from a Dell U2412M monitor. A drop down list which always fills up the available vertical space works better for me. It gives me a sense of having more breathing space. I would feel restricted if the list is limited to a finite number of lines like 10. I guess this is a matter of perception. I would vote to leave it the way it is. Thanks, Tapas

Hi Robert, Thanks a million for version 1.1.9 of your Enhanced Search Widget!!! I tested your latest version this weekend. It rocks. http://www.tapasdas.com/Maps/Phones/app26 This magical widget wraps 4 essential functions - Identify, Search, Buffer, and Spatial Relationships - all under a simple, elegant and intuitive GUI that a lay person can figure out without having to read a help manual. I am amazed to find how well it handles 49 Search Layers. The Parcel layer has around 1.6 million records. This was the most critical widget we needed for our migration to JavaScript. Your widget has delivered in spades. THANK YOU! Tapas

Hi Robert, I found a minor usability issue with your Enhanced Search Widget version 1.1.8 I am using this example web app to explain this issue: http://www.tapasdas.com/Maps/Phones/app26/ Open the Enhanced Search Widget Open the Layer List Close the Enhanced Search Widget without selecting a layer. The Layer List remains open, even though the Enhanced Search Widget is now closed. To make this orphaned Layer List go away, you would have to click anywhere on the map. Your Identify Widget 1.1.2 exhibits the same behavior. Open the Identify Widget Open the Layer List Close the Identify Widget without selecting a layer. The Layer List remains open, even though the Identify Widget is now closed. To make this orphaned Layer List go away, you would have to click anywhere on the map. Thanks, Tapas

Robert, Thanks for the reassurance that you will be porting most of your Flex Widgets to the Web AppBuilder to give it the same level of functionality. We are grateful that you are working round the clock on this massive task!

Hi Robert, I agree with your reasoning! Your enhanced search widget has a much wider scope allowing users to find features that are not included in the table of contents (Layer List), and also features that are not within the scale threshold.

Robert, I uploaded a new version of the Tutorial Doc: Using the Web AppBuilder I included the additional steps one must take if there is a proxy already in place for the Local Area Network on the Production Web Server. We encountered this situation in our organization which was preventing us from running the ESRI proxy. We were getting an HTTP 500 error whenever the proxy attempted to redirect to any external website. The solution was to open the Configuration Editor in IIS Manager, edit defaultProxy under system.net, and enter the settings for proxyaddress. I also included a tip on adding line breaks to the config.json file by copying the code to http://www.dirtymarkup.com This makes it a lot easier to edit the file.

Hi Roy, There is one more thing you may want to check. Make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox (38.0.1). This is your best bet. If you are using Chrome, make sure you are using version 43.0.2357. If you are using IE, make sure you are using version 11. It does not quite work with IE 8, 9, and 10.

Hi Roy, There is one thing you may want to try. Could you run through the steps on your home PC that has Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8? The reason being, there may be some firewall issues on your office computer. Your office PC may also be using a Proxy on your LAN. This makes it tricky to configure the proxy. If you run this on your home PC, then all these variables are eliminated. Just for a test, you may want to use the default search layers that comes with Robert's Enhanced Search Widget. Can you run the Spatial Searches, and can you create the buffers? Are you sure the Object ID and Shape Fields are turned on in your Map Services?

Hi Roy, You know, I had the exact same problem when I was trying to test the Enhanced Search Widget! Robert helped me through in setting up the proxy, and after that everything seemed to work flawlessly. I made a tutorial doc that explains all the steps: http://www.TapasDas.com/WAB.pdf I had to do 3 things. 1. Set up the proxy. 2. Use my own geometry service. 3. Clear the browser cache. Hope this helps

Aha! I agree with you Raviteja that it would be a nice feature to have on the Enhanced Search Widget, just so that you can limit the search layers that show up in the drop down list. We have Web Apps with 76 layers. With the current implementation of the Enhanced Search Widget, you get a drop down list with 76 layers. It can be daunting to scroll through to get to the one you want. If there was a Visible Option, I would see only the search layers in the list that are within the scale threshold. This would greatly reduce the number of layers I see in my drop down list, and improve usability. Hmm...one more enhancement request for Robert... Tapas

Certainly! I am assuming you are trying to configure the Identify Widget and not the Enhanced Search Widget. When you go to configure the Identify Widget, and you scroll all the way down on this Configure Identify panel, you will see the Identify Layer Option dropdown list. I have an example on page 128 of this Tutorial doc: http://www.TapasDas.com/WAB.pdf I am using the All option in my example. You can use the Visible option for your case. Thanks, Tapas
