When you configure to use the "Windows Domain" as the user store in ArcGIS Server Manager, one of the steps involves specifying the username/password of a domain account. This is how ArcGIS Server accesses Active Directory to get a list of all of the users. I suspect the password expired for the account you used in this process. This prevents ArcGIS Server from being able to authenticate with any domain users and explains why you could only access Server Manager with the primary site admin account. I can think of only a couple of ways to work around this. One option is to reconfigure the security every time the password expires (or changes) for the account you use. Another option is to talk to your IT dept about creating a domain account for you to use whose password never expires. This is not an option for many companies though due to security policies forcing all domain accounts to change passwords on a regular basis.

Since Windows 2003 does not have the Command Line column in the Task Manager, I'd recommend using the Sysinternals utility Process Explorer to get this info. Keep in mind the service information is only available in the command line for 10.1 and later. If you are using 9.3 or 10.0 you will need to set the ArcGIS Server log level to Info: Detailed and manually match the PID in the logs to the SOC PID in the Task Manager.

This issue appears to be specific to the latest release of Chrome (v29). We are currently looking into this and will let you know if there is a setting that can be adjusted in Chrome to get the Server Manager page to appear. Jeff

If you are seeing an http 500 error in Fiddler when trying to use the proxy page, there may be something wrong in the proxy.config file. An easy test is to access Google through your proxy page within your browser. Once you have added http://www.google.com to your proxy.config file, try to access it through your proxy url. http://(proxy_hostname)/proxy/proxy.ashx?http://www.google.com If this returns an http 500 error as well, you need to review the proxy.config file and make sure the syntax of everything is accurate. If the syntax looks fine, another option would be to download a fresh copy of the proxy page. The one I've had the best luck with can be found here.

If you are using AGS 10.1 SP1, my recommendation would be to move the Parks feature class to an ArcSDE gdb and keep the ParkRecInfo table in a fgdb. When you do this, make sure to adjust the join in the MXD so it references the correct table. There are a couple of bugs involved in this that are working against each other. The Rest query operation returns all results when the feature class and joined table are both in a fgdb. This should be fixed in AGS 10.2. If they are both moved to an ArcSDE gdb, the Rest query works but the Find operation fails. This is fixed by moving the table to a fgdb. If the Search function in the app still fails, please review this KB to verify you have the alias configured properly.

You might try exporting the data you want to use in your feature service to a fgdb and then importing it back to your SDE gdb (perhaps in a new feature class or table). I'm not sure exactly what ArcGIS Server uses to analyze the data prior to allowing you to enable feature access but I have seen instances where this procedure "cleans" the data so it is not viewed as being from mixed data stores.

Jamal, Your screenshot does reveal that you have 2 ArcSOC.exe instances running but it shows that only one of them is associated with the S15 map service. This is revealed by looking at the -Dservice=S15.MapServer in the Command Line for the top ArcSOC.exe process. The bottom one is not associated with any map service and was likely created with the connection from ArcMap to ArcGIS Server.

Mark, What version of ArcGIS Server are you using? There are several known issues unique to 10.0 or 10.1 related to Rest queries on map services with joins. I suspect this is what you are running into and I can provide more information once I know what version you have. Jeff

Can you confirm that both of those ArcSOC.exe processes belong to that service? In 10.1, the easiest way to tell is to add the "Command Line" column to your Task Manager. This will provide the service name for each ArcSOC.exe process listed. Also, do both of those processes go away once you have stopped the service? Jeff

Is the data in your feature class from a version 9.3.1 SDE geodatabase? There was a known issue creating a 10.1 feature service against 9.3.1 data that may have produced a similar error message to what you are seeing. This was fixed in 10.1 SP1.

You shouldn't need to make any changes. The Anonymous Authentication is enabled by default when you install the Web Adaptor for IIS. The ArcGIS Server built-in users and roles will work fine with this. Just make sure you have the security settings for your services set to 'Public, available to everyone' and you should be good to go. An easy way to verify this is with the opened padlock icon next to your services and folders in Server Manager.

Have you made the adjustments in the init_user_param.sh file to enable the environment variables so ArcGIS Server can find the Oracle client? Information on this can be found here. Once this script has been adjusted, you will need to restart ArcGIS Server for the changes to take effect.

Usually that error is thrown when the process monitor scans ports 6080 and 6443 and determines one of them is not being used. It assumes Tomcat may not be running and tries to restart it. In your case it sounds like it is happening only when trying to access it though. After enabling both HTTP and HTTPS access through the arcgis/admin page, did you try restarting the ArcGIS Server service? Regarding the SSL certificate, there is not a unique certificate for IIS or Tomcat. They are all the same. Does https work for you when you use a self-signed certificate instead of importing one?

When you register the folder, are you unchecking the option 'Same as publisher folder path'? This needs to be unchecked so your publisher folder path is the UNC path to your Samba share and the Server folder path is the Linux path to that same folder in Linux format (ex /arcgis/data). In your case the 'arcgissoc' account needs read access to that folder.

If the images are stored on another server, you should be able to create a local account on that server with the same username and password and grant that local account rights to the UNC path. This should allow ArcGIS Server to access those images. If the images are stored on a device where you cannot create local accounts (like a NAS device) or your network has other limitation preventing you from using local accounts, creating a generic domain account should work for you. The default ArcGIS Server local account "arcgis" is created when the software is installed. If you want to change to a domain account, you should run the "Configure ArcGIS Server Account" utility from the Start Menu. You can also use this to switch back to a local account if you'd like. If you want to change the password for this local account, you will need to do this through the Windows Computer Management tool. Once changed, go ahead and run the "Configure ArcGIS Server Account" utility again to use the new password. Jeff
