Thanks for the quick reply Brad, Unfortunately it hasn't helped my issue. I need a way to score an exact match higher than over-matches (addresses with units). See screen shot attached. I need to get the selected result (which exactly matches the searched string) to score higher than any unit address with the same root address. -chris Chris, Did you rebuild with this style? Brad

I am not too sure where you are going wrong here but I am attaching the latest style. Maybe some of the issues you are having have been addressed in this style. Brad

I would suggest that you contact tech support if you are having issues building locators. Also, do you have SP2 installed? Brad

ArcGIS does not support xlsx format. You can save it as a xls if it isn't too big or convert it to a csv and it will work.

I can't reproduce this issue on 10.0 SP2. I have a street centerline featureClass that is stored in a featureDataset and the locator builds with no issue. The one issue that I see most often is that, by default, the output location for the locator is within the featureDataset and that is when creation fails. If this is not what you are seeing, I would suggest logging a call with support. Brad

Try the following thread. About half way down (posted on 2/09/11) I give a workaround to a bug that will be fixed at 10.0 SP3. http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/22064-New-geocoding-engine-is-terrible Brad

Prior to SP2, we didn't have an easy way to only output formatting if there was a value associated with that component (ie. Apartment number). Therefore, thee # symbol always gets written out for the Match_addr even if there is no apartment number. If you have SP2 installed, I can fix it if needed. Brad

This issue that you are seeing is not related to what is in this thread because the thread is specific to 10.0 locators in a composite. I would open a call with tech support. Brad

Can you give me a list of the locators from the top level to the last locator with the following: 1. Locator Style (with ArcGIS version) ex. US Address - Dual Ranges (ArcGIS 10) 2. Zone fields locator was built with. ex. city, state and zip or just zip 3. Field Mapping - ex. Street = _Street, Unit = _Unit, ... Brad

It should be just a composite fix and it should only apply to 10.0 participating locators. Can you attach a screen shot of the composite after the fix? Brad
