Vikram - Did you receive the following error? Error 001797: No subnetwork controller was discovered. If the starting point does not have traversability to the subnetwork controller the trace cannot be completed. The subnetwork controller is used to determine which direction from the starting point is upstream/downstream for the trace results. Let me know if this page helps: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/data/utility-network/utility-network-trace-types.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_3885D93DD6D540B38454BD6F8D041E70 The upstream/downstream direction of a subnetwork is determined on the fly during a trace. This is done by discovering whether the domain network is source- or sink-based and by locating the subnetwork controllers. Upstream traces travel towards subnetwork controllers in source-based domain networks and away from subnetwork controllers in sink-based domain networks. Downstream traces travel away from subnetwork controllers in source-based domain networks and toward subnetwork controllers in sink-based domain networks. Both of these trace types require a clean subnetwork. The traceable subnetworks must be updated if they are dirty. Both types of traces travel the network based on traversability. Terminal configurations influence these trace types.

Welcome and thanks for joining the Utility Network GeoNet community! To get started we invite you to first review the group features on the overview page and familiarize yourself with the group info, space owners, and GeoNet terms of use. As you explore the group, you'll also find tools to connect and collaborate. We encourage you to use the Utility Network GeoNet community space to ask/answer questions, share files, and participate in discussions. Feel free to use industry-focused community spaces to collaborate on items specific to the Utility Network Package tools and configuration process: Industry community spaces: Electric and Gas Telecommunications Water Utilities We invite you to post a comment below to say "hello" and introduce yourself and share what part of the utility network are you looking forward to working on. We're excited to connect and collaborate with you and we look forward to seeing your contributions. - The Utility Network team

Questions specific to the Utility Network Package tools will be discussed in the following topic: Utility Network Package Tools FAQ This document compliments the following topic: FAQ help topic for frequently asked questions. Please contact the utility network space owners to request additional questions to be added to the FAQ. Can the service territory feature class be updated? There is not currently a tool that allows the service territory to be updated. The options available to account for this are: Make the initial service territory slightly larger than your intended work area to account for potential growth. Keep in mind that network features can be created anywhere within the service territory extent. Use the Utility Network Package tools to export the current utility network configuration to an asset package, stage the utility network using the modified service territory, and reimport the network configuration using the asset package. Can I change an Asset Group or Asset type in the utility network? The asset group field is assigned as the subtype field for network feature classes and serves as the major classification for network assets. You can configure additional asset groups by disabling the network topology and adding new code/description subtypes. Existing subtypes cannot be altered or removed, and the subtype field cannot be changed for the feature class. The asset type field is configured using attribute domains to represent the minor classification of network assets. You can configure additional asset types by disabling the network topology and adding new code/description pairs for the coded value domain. Existing coded value domain code/descriptions cannot be modified, and the domain cannot be deleted. BUG-000115603 - Marked as designed What is the maximum number (max code) for an Asset group subtype and an Asset type domain? The code limit for the asset group and asset type allowed is 1024. This means asset group subtypes and asset type domains can be created with codes as high as 1023. The asset group and asset type fields are used by a utility network for feature classification. These represent the major and minor classification for utility features. To support this, subtypes and coded value attribute domains are configured for these fields. These are stored internally in the network topology as In Line network attributes. Note - The attribute domain associated with the asset type field must have a field type of short integer. How many inline network attributes can I have in a utility network? A utility network reserves a total of 64 bits for system and user-defined inline network attributes. The network properties list the network attributes and the bit size for those that are stored In Line. There are various system network attributes that are stored In Line which use a portion of the available bits. For utility networks that are created with ArcGIS Pro 2.8 and earlier, a total of 20 bits are reserved for user-defined In Line network attributes. The number of reserved bits was increased with ArcGIS Pro 2.9, to 21 bits and further with ArcGIS 3.0, to 25 bits reserved for user-defined In Line network attributes. Review the network attributes topic to see how to calculate the bit size for In Line network attributes.

I can see how this might be confusing, but the tool is attempting to be smart in filtering the categories that are not applicable. I am going to add this note that is referenced in the Set Network Category tool topic in the workflow topic as well. Set Network Category Set or modify a network category assignment (will edit for next release with note about Categories parameter) NOTE: Subnetwork controllers in a domain network with a partitioned tier definition must first have a directional terminal configuration assigned before the network category can be set. If you execute this from python, the following error is received: ERROR 001882: The terminal configuration of the AssetGroup / AssetType must be directional in partitioned domain networks. The terminal configuration must have two or more terminals with at least one upstream terminal assigned to the Subnetwork controller category. Failed to execute (SetNetworkCategory).

It would be nice to have the solution to this incase another user encounters the same issue: I assume that the specified asset group/asset type listed in the tool did not have a terminal configuration assigned with at least one upstream/downstream terminal? https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/data/utility-network/subnetwork-controller.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_6F58C2C5A4994476B959C1EA095B6035

Hamish - This functionality is planned for the 10.7 release. Sync for branch versioned data will initially be supported from ArcGIS Pro as the client on the default branch version. Here is the updated documentation for the latest 10.7 release: http://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/publish-services/windows/prepare-data-for-offline-use.htm

Thanks for sending an update Mark. I was wondering if there was somehow a controller using the same subnetwork controller name in the Subnetworks table from previous attempts/tests. The import process is basically setting the device feature as a subnetwork controller, just like the process of using the Modify Subnetwork Controller pane while working with an active map. I appreciate your updates on this one. If you do come across an instance where you are receiving this error falsely please contact us back and we can investigate. Here are some general guidelines when importing controllers or setting device features as subnetwork controllers: The name of a new subnetwork is unique within the utility network. The name of the subnetwork controller is unique within the tier.

Sorry for my delay on response. Support for SAP HANA geodatabases is through using ArcGIS Pro 2.1 or higher. As ArcGIS Pro is the ArcGIS client used to work with SAP HANA geodatabases, they do not support geometric networks (Utility networks are supported for modeling utilities in ArcGIS Pro). FAQ: Does the ArcGIS platform support the SAP HANA database? If you are only looking to transfer related feature classes you can always use geoprocessing tools, but the geometric network itself is not supported for migration.

Hi there! When you are asking about looking at the differences in the feature classes, are you referring to a process to keep the feature classes between Oracle and SAP HANA geodatabases in sync to contain the same feature edits? Geodatabase replication tools are not available via ArcGIS Pro when accessing the geodatabases directly, but there are options for you to use distributed collaboration workflows. On what geodatabases will the edit be taking place? Is it just one of the geodatabases? Reply back with a very detailed explanation of what your desired workflow is, what data exists in each geodatabases, and where the edits are taking place.

I just wanted to confirm what Kory posted - The defect that was logged for this issue was implemented as part of the ArcGIS Pro 2.2 release. There is another defect logged with the same issue. BUG-000112112 - Cannot select multiple locks in the database connection properties in the Show connected users and locks... dialog in ArcGIS Pro. BUG-000112110 - Multiple user connection selections are deselected when right-clicking the selected connections in ArcGIS Pro.
