Hello all; I thought this would be a good place to ask this question. I see that the ArcGIS sdk for iOS has great offline features such as maps, geocoding and routing. Are these also available with the ArcGIS API for Flex? Thanks; Raffi

Not sure why you're getting redirected like that. You can also just browse to http://support.esri.com, log in, and then search for the bug ID which is NIM086349. Thanks for the reply. We did solve this issue by using POST instead of GET in all query tasks by setting the METHOD property.

Hi, This is actually a known issue with 10.1 SP1: http://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/role/beta10_1/TklNMDg2MzQ5 It is resolved with 10.2, but there are also some workarounds described in the link above. Hope this helps. Many thanks for the reply. I am logged in to the forum now, and every time I click this link, it asks me to log back, after which it takes me to this page which doesnt seem like the one you intent. http://support.esri.com/en/?ESRISessionID=g8tkEXmWv9WRVXa1i48sqhmjoNzUOPzBk3aoSEYFWNGSzRng3cfDlJ6-8EfBxafPNIPpu64HaBLGG6Y=

Dear all; We just migrated our map services to a 10.1 ArcGIS Server. We have two web apps, and since the migrations, weird query erros are showing up. If you go the service, and select one of the layers and query it with just "1=1", it returns an error, if you just click again "get", then it returns results. Just go here http://arcgis4.roktech.net/arcgis/rest/services/DigitalEgypt/CFC_Hybrid_A/MapServer/0/query?where=1%3D1&text=&objectIds=&time=&geometry=&geometryType=esriGeometryEnvelope&inSR=&spatialRel=esriSpatialRelIntersects&relationParam=&outFields=&returnGeometry=true&maxAllowableOffset=&geometryPrecision=&outSR=&returnIdsOnly=false&returnCountOnly=false&orderByFields=&groupByFieldsForStatistics=&outStatistics=&returnZ=false&returnM=false&gdbVersion=&returnDistinctValues=false&f=html If you see an error, refresh and it disappear, if you don't see an error, refresh and you will. Thanks

I had this same problem and I finally fixed the problem: Make sure you have the same fields in the search results as you have in the table the search is linked to. It was a simple fix that took me awhile to find (as these things usually go). I had included a field that was visible in other tables, but that I had had turned off in this table before publishing the map. Hope this helps! Hi, I couldn't exactly understand this solution, I am having this same exact problem through our Map Service: http://tela.roktech.net/arcgis/rest/services/DigitalEgypt/CFC_EN2/MapServer/5/query If you put in the where box "1=1", still get this error Unable to complete operation. Thanks a lot.

You should be able to achieve both by creating a custom skin. Thank you for the reply. This line "This component uses skins made up of skin parts. Do not set the skin parts directly. The component's skin sets the skin parts." is just confusing me a little, so I thought there is like a template for the CSS somewhere.

If you use your own data and have the extension on the server, it is free. If you use ESRI data and their routing service, I know you have to be a member of something, and likely it is a paid service, though not 100% sure about that. Regards;

Dear all coders; I have a very weird error, a simple two layer mao is causing this weird "not registered with arcgis" error, here is the code #define kTiledMapServiceURL @"http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/ESRI_StreetMap_World_2D/MapServer" #define kDynamicMapServiceURL @"http://arcgis2.roktech.net/ArcGIS/rest/services/DigitalEg/CFC_En/MapServer/" UIView<AGSLayerView>* lyr = [self.mapView addMapLayer:tiledLayer withName:@"Tiled Layer"]; //release to avoid memory leaks [tiledLayer release]; // Setting these two properties lets the map draw while still performing a zoom/pan lyr.drawDuringPanning = YES; lyr.drawDuringZooming = YES; //create an instance of a dynmaic map layer self.dynamicLayer = [[[AGSDynamicMapServiceLayer alloc] initWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:kDynamicMapServiceURL]] autorelease]; //set visible layers self.dynamicLayer.visibleLayers = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:[NSNumber Thank you very much in advance. Dear all; We have been hard at work for two years creating a street network for Egypt. Now and after 17,000 street objects are drafted, we are working on providing routing functionality and historical traffic data. And that's where my question comes in. We have feature class called "Roads" and table called "DailyProfile" which has several fields for storing the free-flow multiplier at different times of the day, then created "Streets-Traffic Profiles join table" which identifies street features, their free-flow travel times, and their related profiles for each day of the week. Our missing part is how to join "Roads" feature class with The "Streets-Traffic Profiles join table", while they are saying in the tutorial (http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//0047000000s0000000) "The relationships between streets and speed profiles are simply made by storing values of unique identifiers in tables; you don't need to create any relationship classes." And they are using filed "Network_ID" ex:"78400000072568". how did they calculate it??? Also how can we automate the process of creating new roads, without having to recreate the join table. Can anyone please help, any would be highly appreciated. Thanks Raffi

Dear all; I have a feature class called "Roads", objects of which participate in a network, am mentioning that just in case it has something to do with my issue, though I don't think so. Working locally, everything seems to be fine. I query and create three layers of the Roads feature class in my mxd, based on a value of the "RoadClass" field, value of 1 being a highway, all the way down to 3 for the smallest roads. The issue arises in the mxd on the server. The server generates an error and doesn??t draw each roads layer according to the assigned symbology, instead it draws all of the layers using one width and color, with the following error message: <Msg time='2012-06-04T10:59:54' type='ERROR' code='103800' target='DigitalEg/Rehab.MapServer' machine='LOIS' user='?' process='4684' thread='9416'>Highways: An expected Field was not found or could not be retrieved properly.An expected Field was not found or could not be retrieved properly. [Roads]</Msg> <Msg time='2012-06-04T10:59:54' type='ERROR' code='103800' target='DigitalEg/Rehab.MapServer' machine='LOIS' user='?' process='4684' thread='9416'>Roads: An expected Field was not found or could not be retrieved properly.An expected Field was not found or could not be retrieved properly. [Roads]</Msg> I checked or any weird entries in my RoadClass field, and nothing is out of values from 1 to 3. Keep in my that these are 12,000 roads, so it will be very hard to check for illegal entries in other fields within all the roads, like the names of each one. You can see the service at this app: www.digitaleg.com/Digital_Egypt/El-Rehab/GIS/RehabEnglish.html and here is the link to the server layers: http://arcgis2.roktech.net/ArcGIS/rest/services/DigitalEg/Rehab/MapServer Can anyone please help? Many thanks in advance Raffi

Hello Dmitry; I actually tried both methods to no avail. In my flex code, I set the outputGeometryPrecision from 0 to 10, one by one, and it makes no difference. I also set the Default Output Geometry Precision in the service properties from 0 to 1 and then 2, and nothing changed again. When I do set Force Hirachy Beyond to any value, the application generates an error. Here is the route parameters code: <esri:RouteParameters id="routeParams" outputGeometryPrecision="0" outputGeometryPrecisionUnits="2" outSpatialReference="{myMap.spatialReference}" pointBarriers="{barriers}" returnDirections="true" directionsLengthUnits="esriKilometers" returnRoutes="false" stops="{stopsFS}"/> I also tried not setting the outputGeometryPrecisionUnits to anything. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Raffi Hi Raffi, Such effect might be caused by geometry generalization. Please try setting outputGeometryPrecision on the routeParameters object to zero. If it helps, try slightly increasing it to e.g. 2 meters (outputGeometryPrecision and outputGeometryPrecisionUnits params) - completely ungeneralized geometry can be a big payload. There is also a Default Output Geometry Precision parameter on the Network Analyst Server itself (in service properties, under Network Analysis capabilities), in case you do not want to pass the above parameters with every request. Hello all; I have my own streets layer which I created a network analysis of, everything works great except the resulting route graphic doesn't match the streets in areas where there is high curvature, please see attached image. You can do this yourself by going to http://www.digitaleg.com/Digital_Egypt/El-Rehab/GIS/Rehab.html and click on the car symbol on the top left menu. generate a route and chances are in some areas it will be rugged or not smooth as the street it is supposed to track. Here is also the route layer http://arcgis2.roktech.net/ArcGIS/rest/services/DigitalEg/Rehab/NAServer/Route I am assuming it has nothing to do with the flex code? Thanks Raffi [ATTACH=CONFIG]13558[/ATTACH]
