you have to ensure that the data to be mapped is numeric...just because it has a number in the column doesn't mean it is numeric...you have to check the field properties to assess this. For example, a shapefile's table will show numeric data right-justified whereas text/string data will be left justified. You can convert these data to numeric by adding a new column to the table, use the field calculator and the python interpretor with the expression float(!your column name here!) This assumes that all of the data in the column can be converted to a number...if it doesn't, then there a few extra hoops you have to go through

Once the symbology is created, a layer file (.lyr) can be created to retain the symbology of the file. If working on local disks etc, it is best to house the *.lyr file in the same folder as the originating data

Excellent idea, this is the only one that would account for a 0 std dev outside of pure error. There is no indication on any zonal statistics thread of this behaviour being reported before. You might also want to examine the statistics of the std dev raster to confirm non-visually that the values are indeed all 0 (which I am sure you have)

I said the smallest...I suspect that the files are of different extent which means the larger ones need to be clipped down to smaller ones. Sarah you still need to check the extents to be certain, it is quite possible that defining the projection will still not result in what you want. As a check, you should really add each layer into its own data frame and have a visual look, then add the other ones in one at a time. The coordinate system of the data frame is established by the first file added to it...which can have unforeseen consequences. Good luck

Even if you confirm the extents are what they are, your options are 1 to live with it 2 clip two of the files down to the smallest of the files

Possible issues...One of them isn't or it has been defined incorrectly, or they differ in extent. If it is the latter, then there is nothing you can do since the coverage is what it is. Reporting on the 3 file extents would be useful as well projection information.

In short, there is only one info folder per folder. For example, 10 grids in a folder will all share the same info folder. If you want separate info folder for each grid, then you have to copy/export (not using your operating system!!!) each grid to its own folder

Set the desired extent in the Environments tab of the Copy Raster tool and create a new raster of the desired extent. You cannot change the extent of an existing raster, you can only create new ones that meet your criteria
