Peter from your other link, Spanning Trees can't be used for your purposes since it connects points only and does not use existing network structures, the Network Analyst is the only thing I can think that might be put into service for your problem.

For example, what your workflow up to creating the flow direction? Did you do the standard operations of filling sinks? were you running this in Arctoolbox, did you expressly set the analysis extent and cell size in the tool within Arctoolbox or did you rely on default raster settings. Grid expression is sometimes generic...sometimes due to a mistake in the processing steps

as indicated earlier, a screen grab would help...also what happens if the image is increased in size on the map? If the appearance improves, then you have your answer...small images will never approximate the resolution of the original image

Did you try Insert | Picture from the menu rather than copying and pasteing to see if it has any effect, however, if the image is small I doubt you are going to get to look like the original

Read the link in detail regarding image formats, for example JPEG files are compressed image files. They support 24-bit color and have been a popular choice for use on the web because JPEG file size is often substantially smaller than many other image formats. However, the JPEG compression algorithm is lossy and is not recommended for most map images, as line drawings and text or iconic graphics become blurred by compression artifacts. Thus, PNG is usually a superior format for map images. JPEGs exported from the data view in ArcMap can be generated with an accompanying world file for use as georeferenced raster data.

If your DEM data are in a geographic coordinate system (aka GCS, longitude-latitude), I would project it to a projected coordinate system (Project tool, to UTM) prior to constructing the TIN. I would ensure that the polygon file is projected to the same coordinate system as well...then try using the tool

I don't know what the data in Long Lat could be in but a WGS 84 geographic coordinate system would be a good guess/starting point particularly if it originated from GPS data. Use the Define Projection tool to define it as such, then use the Project tool to get it into your desired projected coordinate system
