Hi Grigory, the ArcGIS Online account information for exercises is provided inside the course itself. Attendees access their user name and password on the Lessons tab. To access the course itself, go to https://www.esri.com/training/my-schedule/ and login with your existing ArcGIS account (probably the same one you use here in the GeoNet community).

As part of our continuing effort to provide maximum value from an instructor-led training experience, we're excited to announce the release of pre-class and post-class assessments. Pre-class assessments are available to registered class attendees three business days before the class start date. Access will close at 11 a.m. on the first day of class. Post-class assessments are available on the last day of class and for seven days afterward. Both assessments are online and completely optional. As mentioned before, every Esri instructor-led course is built to a set of specific and measurable learning objectives. Like the instructor-led class readiness tool released in 2019, assessments include a set of multichoice questions directly tied to course learning objectives. Unlike the readiness tool, pre- and post-class assessments can be taken only once. Pre- and post-class assessments are designed to work together. Although different questions may display on each, both assessments measure knowledge of all course topics. Completion of the pre-class assessment is required in order to take the post-class assessment. The readiness tool helps individuals evaluate whether they have the prerequisite knowledge needed to be successful in the class. The intent of the new assessments is to help individuals gain insight into their existing knowledge of course topics and how their knowledge has changed when the class ends. Each assessment takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. After taking an assessment, you get a report that shows the assessment questions, your answer to each question, and an indication of whether each answer was correct or incorrect. You can download and share the reports if desired. Use the pre-class assessment report to evaluate your existing knowledge and gauge which course topics may be review or brand-new for you. The post-class assessment report includes your answers from the pre-class assessment, so you can easily compare them at a glance. Pre- and post-class assessments will be available for most instructor-led courses that start on or after January 19. Class attendees will see them on the Check Your Knowledge section of their My Schedule page. Attendees access pre- and post-class assessments from their My Schedule page on the Training site. Together, the readiness tool, pre-class assessment, and post-class assessment provide a holistic view of an individual’s learning journey toward achieving mastery of specific GIS concepts or ArcGIS capabilities—a map if you will. Use them to plan and navigate your starting points, milestones, forks in the road, and unexpected discoveries. We think they’re pretty cool and hope you do too.

Hi Tom, for the Spatial Data Science MOOC, you need to use a machine that meets the ArcGIS Pro system requirements and a high-speed Internet connection is definitely recommended. Some of the exercise data is a bit big, though we reduce file sizes as much as possible. There are no formal class times. After the course opens on October 28, you simply access the course when it's convenient for you. A new section opens each Wednesday while the course is in session. The course forums are where attendees post questions and their discussion responses. We encourage attendees to help one another with questions, but our team monitors the forums and makes sure all questions are answered. I'm glad to see you're taking advantage of your e-Learning access! Chris is correct that the differences between ArcMap 10.6 and 10.8 are minimal.

Hi Tom, as you noted, there are lots of options to learn ArcGIS Pro, Python, and many other topics. A good place to start might be these two free web courses: ArcGIS Pro Basics and Python for Everyone. MOOCs are really popular and we have two upcoming: Spatial Data Science: The New Frontier in Analytics and Cartography. Both provide free access to ArcGIS Pro and are highly rated. I did a quick search for "utilities" and these resources came up: https://www.esri.com/training/Bookmark/PKGDMYL6U. Because you have an ArcGIS for Personal Use subscription, you have unlimited access to all e-Learning in the Training catalog. I hope you use that access since you've already paid for it. We add new resources each week so be on the lookout for topics that interest you!

Hi Tim, I shared your question over on the Education community. Many other schools set up student accounts for ArcGIS Online and Esri training access each year/semester, and I believe there are some good suggestions out there for managing this.

Hi Jason, the individual should create an ArcGIS public account, ideally before you remove them from the ArcGIS Online organization. Once they have an ArcGIS public account, they can email GIStraining@esri.com and our team can transfer the training records associated with the ArcGIS Online organizational account to the public account.

Hi Vince, table joins are typically used to symbolize features in one layer using attributes from another layer or nonspatial table. Relates are great for finding and selecting features in a related layer or table, often as part of an editing workflow. Relationship classes are for when you want to do more than find and select related records, you want to enable "smart behaviors" that automate editing workflows and ensure data integrity over time.
