Hi Karen,
Is there any information available regarding the Map Gallery? I will be
submitting my grant proposal next Thursday (due Friday). I am registered
for the conference but I would like to include information on acceptance
into the Map Gallery in my grant proposal.
Do you think that they will call for abstracts for the gallery shortly?
And if so, will it be unlikely to hear back before next Thursday?
Sorry for the inconvenience. I truly appreciate all your help!
Brittany

I'm afraid you won't get any sort of confirmation by your deadline. The map gallery submissions start March 23. The good news is that if you are already registered, you can basically assure yourself of showing a map in the gallery, especially if you submit early. The map gallery is NOT like a paper presentation so it's first come, first served. In alllllllllll the years that I've attended, they've never run out of panels in the gallery (they usually add ESRI "fluff" maps to fill the unused boards).
Hi Brittany!
So sorry for my tardiness. Steve is correct, we can't confirm anything by tomorrow, HOWEVER, if you get that map submission in soon, you will be pretty much guaranteed a spot. We have lots of spots, and we create more room if we need to.
The Map Gallery opens on March 23, that's this coming Monday. Let me know you've submitted and I'll personally make sure we get you a spot in the Gallery, so we don't mess up your grant submission. Just email me at krichardson at esri dot com when you submit and I'll follow up for you.
Thanks and can't wait to see you at the UC!
Karen
Beginning April 15, submit your map to the Esri UC Map Gallery and show the other attendees what your organization is doing with GIS. Don't wait -- the gallery is first come, first served, and it will fill up fast. Secure your spot!
