It's that time of year when Jack asks everyone to submit images for his plenary session at UC. And while you can submit your images until May 31, I was curious if anyone has ever had their work featured during Jack's presentation.

Has your work ever been featured in the plenary session? What was your map about?

Two years ago Jack included one of my maps used for an ongoing project monitoring cyanobacteria levels in our local lake.

Thanks for sharing that, Lon. That sounds like a really interesting project. Are you planning to submit any images this year?

Yes I am.   Last summer we had a series of devastating fires up here in Lake County, CA.   The worst one - the Valley Fire - wiped out nearly 2000 homes in the first few hours.

I submitted 3 samples related to the fire:  a swipe story map, a Portal map showing destroyed structure sites, and a page from a data-driven-pages map book that was used by recovery crews right after the fire.
