Hi guys,
I read an article which is about positive train control systems.
That is about the safety of the train systems ,and I think the article is really worth reading. You can see the excerpts below?
Trains have evolved from single trains running on single tracks to multiple engines running in different directions. Up until recent times, most of the signaling, switching and train operation had been handled manually which is risky and inefficient. To meet regulations designed to reduce or eliminate train accidents, most locomotives now need PTC (Positive Train Control) systems. PTC systems are a computerized system for monitoring and controlling the movement of trains. The first priority is to avoid accidental train collisions, but PTC systems can also automatically regulate the speed of trains in response to rail conditions, on-board equipment malfunctions, temporary speed restrictions, and other safety considerations.
If you are interested the article you can check here.
