Hello,
We currently have a feature class for Service Laterals. Also one for the sanitary lines.
We are wanting to snap the Service Laterals to our sanitary lines. This is so we can create a geometric network.
The snapping however makes it terribly hard to then move a line, for it bends at every vertex where the service connection laterals are snapped.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Kim Lockwood

Hello Kim,
Have you taken a look at the Water Utility Network Editing and Analysis that is part of the ArcGIS for Water Solutions? As part of this solution are a series of tools that help to streamline the processing of adding laterals while still ensuring the integrity of a network. For example, the construction tools can be used to add a connection and the lateral, add lateral from line location, add point and split intersecting line.
Thanks,
Clare

Kim,
Did you find a solution for this? I need to do something similar with our water distribution system.
Were you using the snap geoprocessing tool?
