Hot Spot Analysis

Does ArcMap 10.0 have in-software restrictions? I am getting the error: "exceptions.MemoryError," when trying to run Hot Spot Analysis on many point features (> 24,000,000 approx.). Is there a way to resolve this issue?

If it works on a much smaller subset, then yes, you won't find documentation on the maximum number of points anywhere except by  trial and error
