dasymetric mapping to aggregated crime data

hi. i am master student. currently i am doing master in criminology and GIS. i am facing some problems. actually i am apply dasymetric mapping in my study. i am using property crime data, census data and also land use data as ancillary data  in my study. can you help me what is the step to do dasymetric mapping? i have limited areas. i only have 18 districts. i already using interpolation method but it is did not helping me. but i found dasymetric mapping which is very suitable in my study. can u help me to understand what is this and how to do dasymetric mapping??
