In Map viewer, ArcGISonline now supports complex line symbology, lines built with more than one layer. An example is a line symbol built with one dashed line layer and one marker symbol layer. See example from the web map below.
For us, support of this in map viewer in hosted feature services in AGO has been a long desired functionality. Then we can use official cartography without going via tile services or ArcGISEntreprise services.
Scene viewer doesnt support these line symbols. In Sceneviewer, a solid, wide line is returned instead of the dashed line with markers. It would be great to be able to get equal symbol support in both Map viewer and Scene viewer.
We would like this as well and had Support Services create an enhancement request.
ENH-000163086 - Add Complex Line Symbology to ArcGIS Online Scene Viewer
In wildland fire, firefighters often like to look at the incident data in Google Earth to visualize it in 3D.
If Scene Viewer supported our official symbols (which include complex lines), this could be done seamlessly on the 'live' data instead of exporting.
This is in our backlog but not yet planned for a release.
Could you please share the use case(s) you are trying to solve? If you can provide some sample data or repro cases, this helps too.
This helps us to prioritize our backlog.
Hi @GianlucaMiele1 ,
This is the standard symbology used by wildland fire incidents nationally.
We have 23,000+ users in our AGOL Org using this data.
