I downloaded the Districting extension for ArcGIS and have been trying to get it to work all day. A complete waste of my time...I am trying to figure out if this software will help our department redraw patrol boundaries based on the level of calls for service (or 911 calls). I have a excel spread sheet that I am able to join with a layer (shapefile) of 251 polygons, it is called reporting areas. There are a certain number of reporting areas that will make up a larger patrol area called a beat. I can join the data with the layer and color code each polygon based on the number of calls. Two questions:
- what is with the "Source geography key field" it's always blank and I can never select the field I want to use to join the data and therefore never proceed to the next step.
-I tried several times to practice with the tutorial and keep getting this error message. It might as well be written in Latin.
"Error in UpdateDX_SA. Error number: 55 Description: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\AiDistGen\temp\temp.xml'."
