Iterate mosiac dataset, then raster data?

Hello,

I work with side-scan sonar in ArcGIS. The process of displaying the georeferenced sidescan mosaics is simple but repetitive and time-consuming due to the processing time between steps (building footprints and overviews).

Workflow is as such

1. Create Mosaic Dataset in the main geodatabase

2. Add rasters to the mosaic dataset

3. Build footprints

4. Build Seamlines (using footprint)

5. Build Overviews

This process would be more straightforward if I could just have one mosaic dataset. My sidescan runs tend to overlap for complete coverage/vary the view of underwater objects. It is helpful to have each different recording as a separate layer to switch views when delineating habitat boundaries.

I believe I would need two models for this to work correctly. One for iterating the mosaic dataset creation, then another for iterating raster creation and the actual processing tools. However, I cannot figure out the naming process for the mosaic dataset iteration.

I ran the model, yet no mosaic datasets exist within the geodatabase. Additionally, I cannot change anything about the name of the mosaic dataset either by right-clicking or attempting to change anything.

Thank you for any help.
