It would be amazing to have an AI assistant that can create metadata for GIS data. I think it would need some kind of interactive interface for the AI to ask the user questions about the data to help fill in the gaps.
The AI could start by automatically look at things like:
Then from there the AI could have a conversation with the user to start filling in the gaps. This could be part of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.
In addition to this, AI assistant could look at the item data and prefill the description, category, and auto-tag, allowing the creator to confirm the information before saving it.
Hi @Joshua-Young,
Esri has introduced the Item Details assistant (beta), an AI assistant designed to help jumpstart and enhance metadata creation for GIS content in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise. The assistant provides smart suggestions for titles, summaries, descriptions, tags, and attribute field details.
Please join the Early Adopter Community (EAC) for the Item Details assistant! Participants can explore workflows, share feedback, connect with the product teams to help shape the future.
