Hello GIS friends, my name is Austin Brooks. I graduated from the University of Redlands where I initially got to experience ARC-GIS first hand. ESRI has a hug presence here of course and through my time in the local area I fell in love with the company and what GIS has to offer! I do not necessarily have an abundance of GIS knowledge but I hope to join the ESRI family in sales or Customer Success! Hello Austin,

Great to connect with you, and congratulations on your journey at the University of Redlands. It’s awesome that you got early exposure to ArcGIS there and developed an interest in Esri and GIS.

I recently graduated on May 9th, 2026 with an MBA (GIS focus) and an MS in Computer Technology, and I’m currently exploring opportunities in the GIS space as well, especially in roles related to sales, consulting, or customer success.

Since you’re interested in joining Esri in sales or Customer Success, I’d love to ask, what experiences or skills do you feel have helped you most so far in preparing for those kinds of roles? Also, are there any specific steps you’ve found helpful when trying to break into Esri?
