Redundant street labeling

Hello!

I'm having trouble figuring out how to delete some extra highway labels. Tried everything I can find. Page 17-18 on this guide didn't work. I've attached a screenshot as well. Is there any way to individually select and delete/move these labels?[ATTACH=CONFIG]17192[/ATTACH]

Which version of ArcMap are you using?
Which properties are enabled on the offending label class?

Did you try changing the Line Connection from Unambiguous to Minimize labels on the Labeling Options?
