Hi everyone,

I'm facing some issues with locating georeferencing my point cloud data (LAS.) in ArcGIS Pro. The issues are:

1. Point Cloud is not at the actual location

2. Point Cloud is not georeferenced to the same coordinate system as my base map.

The major challenge is dealing with point 1. Is there a method to move my point cloud to the correct location?

I have tried move the point clouds on CloudCompare but the scale and location are off.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks folks

SherminHo,

I can recommend a pythonic tool called PDAL.  PDAL can project .las and .laz files.  It can even handle Geoids.

You can also think about the idea of moving/projecting the smallest dataset to the largest dataset.  Can your analysis be performed in the srs of the lidar data and then be moved back to your desired srs.

Forgot to add that the Extract_las can reproject too.
