What is the best practice for building setbacks in Parcel Fabric?

Setbacks are interesting - they can be restrictions, but not necessarily an encumbrance.  Either way - you may want to be sure to code them appropriately given the parcel types included with the Parcel Maintenance solution.  There are many tools that help you digitize and draw these types of parcel, and parcel lines.

What type of document are you using to determine setbacks?

Chris,

We went with making setback a line feature outside of the Parcel Fabric. This way it can be maintained by users (interns, entry level positions) not skilled in Parcel Fabric. We get the data from scanned copies of plats.

Edgar - I hear you with the entry level folks that just need to enter parcels...

What about adding this as an associated layer - how will it keep aligned with parcel udpates?
