We are generally encouraging developers to move away from Web ADF development as there are improved web API platforms out there which scale better and give you access to the latest ESRI developments.

I'm not really the right person to advise on IDEs for Java development on web ADF, but this page should give some ideas:

If you need forum help on the subject, then you will get better answers going to the ArcObects forum.

Hi

What product is your question about?  Are you using the JavaScript API or Runtime SDK?

Thanks
