Dear GeoNet community,

A partner and I, would like to start a project based on the ArcGis Desktop Standard edition. We are based in France and we have the required financing to proceed. We will install ArcGis on a dedicated windows based server. We intend to purchase a single recurrent use license so that either me or my associate can access ArcGis from a remote location.

These may seem silly questions so forgive us if that's the case but they are kind of important to us to avoid making any mistakes:

  • I would like to know if there are any limitations based on a French license ?
  • Can my dedicated server be based anywhere in the world or does it have to be in France ?
  • Can I for exemple travel to another continent (i.e. North America USA) and work on US based maps ? We might have to travel to other continents as well.
  • Will I have all the maps available or does a French license give me access to only, let's say "Europe"?
  • I would appreciate any other comments or recommendations you may have.

Kind regards.
